First of all, thanks to everyone that reads and helps update this thread. I've been away from it for almost a month but will be soon giving the 1.12 update a spin. One can only play so much Destiny, fun as it is.

Check the first post for a link to the official change log and the current Seasonal Events and Quick Matches. Also, there's a brand new header photo for the new month Cheers everyone and happy driving.

Here's a tease for the Alpine VGT car:

Quote:
What springs to mind when you first hear of a vehicle that steers with its rear wheels which don’t pivot individually, but rather both move as a whole?

If you though earth moving equipment, then yes, that’s what we thought too, but apparently Alpine has other ideas…

We didn't at first notice the articulation, but then it became apparent. There is a small icon in the sole photo posted on the firm's Twitter account that does make it look like it’s pivoting, so we’ll go with it too.

The vehicle you see in the sketch posted below is not the final design for Alpine’s entry into the select world of Vision GT cars for Gran Turismo 6. However, were they to leave it as is or just make minor changes, it’d arguably be the most extreme one we’ve seen thus far.

What do you think: would such a vehicle stand any chance of actually working were it to be made in reality? Is it not, perhaps, a bit too extreme and far-fetched?

Also: The new Circuito de la Sierra track and accompanying mode is a fun addition. Lots of air time spots on this track and you better know where they are or you're going for a spin lol. The track overall is huge and technically challenging. The update is really big and will take some time to download and install but it's worth it.

Beat a Pro Lap time and Post 1 Update

Update to the first post (finally).

Here's a vid from last weekend at the FIA World Endurance Champoinships held a Fuji Speedway in Japan. At the event GT6 was running on a Simcraft simulator cockpit with three screens, full 3D motion and G-force simulation.

Professional LeMans prototype driver Kazuki Nakamura challenged visitors to beat his lap time of 1:26.545 with the Toyota TS030 on the GT6 Fuji Speedway Time Trial:

Holiday Update 1.15 is Live

Today is the day that the Chaparral 2X and Infinity VGT concepts are launched, inside the annual holiday update. Aside from 2 new VGT cars there will be a collection of special Seasonal Events that will run through the new year.

Two events are most interesting:
  • A survival race for Super GT cars that features changing weather.
  • For the drifters the D1GP course, used in real life earlier this year, will be re-created on Fuji Speedway just as it was.

There will also be time trial sector events and a couple of full on races against the AI. Here's a more detailed breakdown at GT Planet:

Update 1.16 is now live.

The update weighs in at 535MB but it's a lot of stuff. Here are some of the highlights:

Quote:
Vision Gran Turismo
The "MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo" has been released.

After the update has been installed, the cars can be purchased from the [Vision GT] option within the [CARS] section in "My Home". Alternatively, it is also possible to obtain the cars by completing a lap (regardless of the lap time) in the new Seasonal Events, available only for a limited time.

Mid-Field Raceway

The popular original track of the Gran Turismo series makes a comeback with further refinements! This high speed circuit is built on a mountain landscape full of inclines and descents. It is further made dynamic by the famous grade separated crossing where the direction of the lap circle changes, and its long flat out sections and mid- to high-speed corners.

B-Spec

The event races of Career mode are now compatible with B Spec, where the AI drivers race for the player. You can use B Spec for races you might find difficult to complete such as some of the longer endurance races, or when you just want to watch the race. You can select [B-Spec] from the quick menu displayed before the start of event races.

GTPlanet article: https://www.gtplanet.net/gt6-update-...ini-vision-gt/

Love it or hate it GT6 is a game that keeps on giving. New tracks are the best, even a blast from the GT4 past with Mid-field raceway. I love that this game is getting major, free updates 15 months later. I love that the tracks are free to all so it keeps the community together over a long period. Project Cars devs please take note because: a) This is a proper way to deliver add on content. And: b) I'm interested in buying that game and hope they do things the right way. Drive happy, folks

You're welcome. It's cool to know that folks care and are following along. Plus I have an excuse to post pics from the photo mode in the first post.

The Senna content released in May or June of last year, officially in Update 1.08. The content actually has its own place in the game menu, just keep scrolling right and its under special events (I think). Same tab as the Goodwood festival and the moon rover maybe? The game also puts his cars in a Senna section of the dealership if you want to buy them instead of winning the challenges. If you haven't updated in a while that could be why you don't see it.
