So there's going to be pick up only weapons in the game that are extremely powerful. I can see this being bad as people will just camp for these weapons and not play the objective.

Sounds terrible. I'm guessing pay to use these super weapons will also be implemented?

If they do make the final cut they should not be play to pay weapons, and the item placements should be 100% random (not a few places that will spawn it eventually. It should literally be like finding a needle in a haystack.

If we stay optimistic (this is DICE not M$) then maybe they will be used/implemented not much differently in concept then getting on a stationary weapon.
If a super powered rifle is spawned at the back of a map, not like it's going to see the front lines. AND, the awesome new commander ability to target a HVP will up the antemforthrnguy who thinks he is going on a 15-0 kill streak.

Apparently have to hold a flag to spawn them though at least according to some BF forum chatter.

Paying for playing, paying for playing on line, paying for weapons. Whats next?

Now Wii U is now on top of the list.

Only YOU can stop developers for charging for everything.

Don´t freaking buy their games.

I´m not buying BF4. rolleyes.gif

Saw a levelcap video where he was playing medic class. the defibs did have a really quick charge time and an animation of rubbing the paddles together. it appeared to take longer to rez than bf3 but still pretty quick.
Anyone buying this for ps3 or are most holding out for ps4?

I really am waiting to find out exactly what EA/retailers do about the DD upgrade ability and I'm really confused about what the options are so far.

Seperate subject:
Does anyone know what the Beta Access info is, as in, who gets it?

Beta access is preorder BF4, have BF3 premium, or have bought Medal of Honor Warfighter

The Weekend Warriors

You can’t revive knifed players in Battlefield 4

Players killed with a knife will not be able to get revived by their teammates, DICE confirms.

Where did you get that info?
I only see pre-ordering the PC "digital deluxe" version as guaranteeing BF4 beta...for PC.

Dice announced it a while back. All premium BF3ers get it. If you have it on Xbox you only get it on Xbox. PS3 and PC are same. Can't change platforms.

Battlefield 4 Open Beta in October
DICE GM Karl-Magnus Troedsson also revealed the Battlefield 4 open beta. Available for all gamers on PC, X360, and PS3, the beta will feature the Siege of Shanghai map in the classic Battlefield Conquest mode. Battlefield 3 Premium members, those who pre-order Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe Edition and owners of Medal of Honor: Warfighter (Limited or Digital Deluxe Edition) will have access to the exclusive beta early October for three days. Following that, the open beta will kick off. This will be the perfect opportunity for everyone to Prepare 4 Battle before the October 29 launch.

This is the official blog right? If yes then I bought the MoH:LE for $6 for nothing as I am not good enough to sense the effectual difference in the type of people the 3-day beta has vs the open beta.

I love how Dice made it sound like if you bought MOH then you would be in the beta, then it was if you buy Premium, after that preorder BF4 and now its open to everyone. I know its more a demo than anything else but they do a good job of marketing that you will be exclusive to play the beta/demo.

sounds simple - and means that you'll get to keep your PS3 version and give it to someone else or trade it in.

If that works I may take advantage of that. Hopefully that is how it works in the US and for every game. I have a few friends who may even help me bear the costs. (Like I buy CoD at launch and sell to him for $40 a week later after getting the PS4 version.)

Good thing it isn't as simple as just having the disc in the system.

There is no official news on Dualshock 4 implementation of a feature I have sorely missed since Rainbow Six 3,
but "zoom peeking" is here!

Thankfully it's not implemented like this...

While at the Battlefield 4 EA event in Los Angeles, YouTuber Drift0r asked a member of an EA team who was there if there were going to be dinosaurs in BF4. This happened after one of their play sessions where he and the other YouTubers were put in a conference room and asked by an EA marketing team to comment on the state of the game. After Drift0r asked this question, one particular EA guy became frustrated and said that he was not allowed to talk about dinosaurs and wanted to move on. The group repeatedly asked the guy about the dinosaurs until the EA guy let slip that after the Los Angeles event, he had to write a massive report on dinosaur popularity and hand it in to his boss. He also mentioned that everyone at EA and DICE are very much aware of the demand for a dinosaur mode and that he could not confirm or deny the mode's existence.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXz9C-nGWbg

Drift0r finishes the video by saying that because EA is aware of people's desire to see dinosaurs in Battlefield, we should continue to let DICE and EA know that we actually want this to be in the game and not just be a joke on the Internet.

http://blogs.battlefield.com/2013/09/upgrade-to-nextgen/

A whole dish of all the info is right there. Answers all the conjectures I heard over the weekend.

Most important:

PlayStation Offers

All Retailers (EU, US)

Inside marked copies of Battlefield 4 for PlayStation®3 there will be a voucher with a unique code printed on it. This code will allow you the one-time opportunity until March 28, 2014 to purchase a digital version of Battlefield 4 via the PlayStation®Store for only $9.99/£9.99/9.99€. Check back here soon for more details.

AND

If I upgrade to PlayStation 4, what happens with my physical PlayStation 3 disk?
You must have the PlayStation 3 Battlefield 4 disk in your PlayStation 4 in order to play BF4 on PS4.

"And there you have it."
"a letter opener"
