Played a little bit more of the beta today and I have to say I really enjoy playing enigneer something which I did in BF3 only when necessary. Unlocked the AK5c carabine, that thing is awesome.

A little bit disappointed that the DMRs feel weak in the beta, hope they get a boost in the final version.

Yes I agree, I was just telling Nexus about that gun. I was going after the DRM now, so you are saying it sucks? Thats to bad I was really hoping it would be nice. Oh well.

Here is another picture, I'll post the link sort of NSFW. Thats right might as well as join in and do the boobies.

I've been LOVING the DMR "RFB" especially as it unlocks for all classes; did really well in domination to practice with it.. Unlocked the canted sights and wow, it's so slick and tight. Something about it feels really right.

In regards to the chat volume issues I had with Nexus and for other ex-360 users like me with no PS3 headsets, I want to recommend this cheap $5 tech to use on the PS3. With a 360/PC headset.
Only posting cause its an easy solution that may not have dawned on a few here. I apologize it seems remedial.
USB mic dongle.

I only use the ps3 composite cable when away from my main tv and AVR.

PS3 sees it as "generic USB device"
Settings>accessories>audio device>
-Input>generic USB device
-Output>system default (will play chat through speakers/headset)

Does that fix any low volume issues? Guess we will know next time I'm on. The thing I don't get is I'm using a Sony headset but you couldn't hear me well. Not sure what Lazy has but its not a Sony and I can barely hear him.

The semi auto shotty in the beta is cool but the ammo count is bugged badly. One reload uses all 36 rounds...

So your volume was low to me and Lazy's was low to you. It Is weird. Lazy should chime in with his mic brand/model so we can troubleshoot

And I'm. Trying to understand the "missions" on battlelog but no one has added me to try out. My origin/ battlelog is same as AVS and PSN.

Yeah I've wondered the same thing about both consoles, because I was under the understanding that the Xbone was only going to allow proprietary headsets, and that the PS4 had not mentioned anything one way or the other on the subject. I have the Tritton 720's as well, (but for 360 I plug the amp into the wall socket for power...optical out of 360 to the headset amp). Does anybody know if Sony has announced anything on the subject?

For what it is worth, I think the Tritton 720 headset and amp are excellent. Dolby 5.1 surround and I seem to not miss anything sound wise. Battlefield does have excellent sound cues which help as well I'm sure.

Honestly, I can't believe people either don't like headsets, or just simply don't use them, or have never used them. For me they make all the difference in the world, seemingly. Definitely worth the $100 that I paid a few years ago.

I've tried out many different headsets and hate them all. I despise feeling like I'm enclosed in a tiny can (regardless of how good that can sounds) and oblivious to the outside world. People could be at my front door, the phone could be ringing off the hook about my son being in a car wreck, my wife could be screaming to for me for help, or any other number of things would be easily missed. Plus, I found that I have no idea how loud I am with those things on. My complaints get filtered out by the sound of the game, but with headsets, those comments about "camping bindles of wood" are resonated clear as day. A good surround system will always obliterate any headset for me.

I use the skullcandy plyr1 and on the 360 it's all fine and dandy. On the ps3 is where some issues come across. Could be the USB input on the ps3 though. It uses the USB input that cravit8 mentioned. I think that's where the issue lies but I could be wrong. We will find out on the ps4 as I'll have to use a chat cable to the ds4. Maybe there is some other settings that I have to play with. Who knows, not to concerned since the ps4 is a month away.

Time to watch the pats get hammered.

BTW, I've allowed my little guy to play the beta on my PS3 a few times this weekend since he has a child account on the 360 and isn't even able to DL the beta. So if you guys have seen me online and/or tried joining my BF4 game and it's seemed I've ignored chatting, it's because it wasn't me. It was my son who was playing the beta and I disconnected the headset altogether to avoid having him chat with randoms.

I ended up trading a few games at BB this weekend and picked up $60 worth of PSN cards. I then digitally preordered BF4 for the PS3 on PSN to take advantage of the "spend $50, get a $10 coupon" which I will use to upgrade to the PS4 version at no extra cost. Pretty pumped up that I now have both versions paid for. I'm just hoping it doesn't take like 2400 minutes to digitally download either version on their respective release date.

Battlepacks open from Battlelog it seems. You get a couple attachments and some XP. Looks like there are multiple paths to unlock stuff.

Picked up a DMR off a body and it did seem pretty cool.

If the PS4 has the same sound options (HDMI or Optical) as the PS3 does under the sound settings menu, then we should be ok with our 720's.

That's for game audio only. The chat part is the issue as BT or USB won't work at launch.

Mph I've had no issues that I know of. It's a beta and will all reset come oct 29.

Okay, I'll be the one to ask.

Is it, and has it been over the years, fun to be a sports fan in Boston?

Just curious, because as a sports fan here in the Cincinnati area it has been a little dull over the years.

Also, has Harp subscribed to this thread yet?

Yes and no. Its great watching your team do good all season long then it sucks to watch them blow it every year in the playoffs. Like some cities/areas you have your time to shine and then you dont. For the most part the 2000's were good to us New Englanders, we had at least 1 championship between NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB. So I cant complain to much I guess. Its sports so you have your good times then times you wish you rooted for another team.

Dont worry MPH you can change and be a New England sports fan, I wont mind.

I have Harp locked in my basement and tied up in a sexy man pose for my viewing pleasure. He will post when I let him out for some yard time.

Oh geez, you make it sound like it's a big downer. Sorry to bring it up. Sounds rough.

2 questions.

Did you go to the game(s) yesterday?

If so did you leave early?

Already off topic and BF4 hasn't even been released yet. Love it.

Off topic? you are the king of off topic.

It can be rough.

Yes I was at the game and yes I left at the INT at the end of the 4th quarter. I forgot they had one more timeout. I watched the rest at my truck in the parking lot.

The Pats won and you still made it home in time for a little BF4 action which makes it a good day.

Now I'm going a little off-topic too but I'm interested in your opinions. I have a broken 360 slim at home and I'm wondering if I should trade it in. At this point if I get $20 or $30 it's better than having a brick sitting in my closet taking space. My concern is trading it in and not being able to wipeout any info that may be stored in the memory. Stuff like gamertag and credit card information. What do you guys think? Any danger in trading that slim in at Gamestop and having someone possibly have access to my personal info?

Isn't that weird how the fates of fortune can change. If Romo throws that pick, he gets freaking skewered, cause no way in the world his defense would stop the Saints. Brady gets another shot at it, and comes through for the win, now nobody is talking about the pick.

Not saying Romo = Brady, but it makes for good conversation.

"Where's the Imp???" "SHUTUP!!"

Agreed 100%. I can't stand Brady and that goes back to his college days at Michigan...me being a Penn State alum. biggrin.gif

Although, I am an Eagles fan also so I have a large distaste for Romo too. tongue.gif
