The other day a guy at work was telling me a story about how he just recently bought his boys a PS3. I said, "PS4 you mean?" He said no, they wanted a PS3. Anyways, he bought a used one from Gamestop for like $150 I think it was. Came with a 30 day warranty, but he was under the impression it was longer, like a year or something. Well, right after the 30 days it stopped working. Fed up with Gamestop refusing to fix it or make the deal right, he the went to Best Buy and bought a brand new PS3 for $250 I think it was.

Zath, if your satisfied using a console as your Blu-ray player then I don't know why you would buy a separate Blu-ray player. Only thing I can think is if you are either wanting to get a real nice one, or a real inexpensive one possibly.

BTW, there's a new software update today for the PS4.

That should be your only option.

You don't have a backlog. Every time I log into MS you are playing BF3. You don't have a backlog just games sitting that will never be played.

Something different to do .

On a sidenote, my PS3 decided to crap out on me today. So... now I gotta decide what to do. Options:

1. Try to repair the unit. Problem - flashing red light and 3 beeps on startup, no XMB or orchestra sound. Tried vacuuming vents and re-seating hard drive already.

2. Buy a used PS3.

3. Buy a PS4.

4. Buy a blu-ray player and continue playing my backlog.

TBH, it'll probably be either 2 or 4. It's a MGS4 special PS3 that is backwards compatible. Hell, I still have the box and everything that came with it. So maybe someone on eBay will pay $$$ for it? Otherwise there's what, GameStop?
I still have a launch 60gb with the box too...still kicking but loud as heck.

You should:
1. sell the ps3
2. Buy a ps4
3. Buy bf4
4. Download war thunder for free
5. Profit

I'm having far too much fun with BF3 to do other games. It's like a freakin' addiction! Our latest kick is squad deathmatch.

As for the blu-ray player, I'm thinking of going that route so that when we do end up getting a next-gen system, the player goes in our bedroom. It's a $80 stop-gap versus a $150 stop-gap (for a used ps3).

I was doing some thinking about Bad Company 2. Her's what I loved about it:
1. Story was great. Not as good as BC1 but you actually like the players.
2. Buildings were fully destructible. Laguna Presa 1st mcoms looks amazing when flattened. Also, lumberjacking was an effective tactic.
3. End of game cutscenes.
4. BC2 had equal # of players on PC and console. What that meant was that DICE could focus on developing ONE set of maps, instead of building for PC and then shrinking down everything for console.
5. Guns that would actually shoot where you pointed them.
6. Guns and vehicles didn't have a ton of attachments/unlocks that you could mess around with. It was simple how it was set up. Want a scope? You'll have to trade extra ammo for it.
7. MCOMS that can be damaged by other means. You can throw down C4 or even AT mines on the objective and chuck in a grenade to do damage. You can attach C4 to the UAV (my personal favorite), fly it in, and blow up an MCOM while the defenders are running into your base to get the last kill to end the round. This meant there was more than one way to win the round and added a lot of complexity to the game.
8. Kills and deaths were not displayed - only points. I once earned ace soldier playing a medic, getting 0 kills, and 0 deaths. After replaying BC2 a few weeks ago, I kept finding myself checking the scoreboard. After a while, I realized I couldn't tell my own (or anyone else's) kills and deaths and it felt much more relaxing.
9. Music played at the start of the match got you ready to play, especially with the Vietnam dlc.

Totally understandable... such a fun game, and so easy to dominate. I think I had over 1000 MVP games. You've probably crushed that number by now.

Just pathetic dude. Get a eff'ing PS4 already. You'll still be able to beat up noobs, but it will be a much richer experience.

@Lord_Zath; I can see it now. In two years you'll be playing BF4 with Spyder696969 and telling us how great it is.

Here's a few more videos showing continuous play from the start of the rounds. Short clips though.

Last we tried it sucks. If me and you use that option and someone comes on, they would have to use that option or they can't join our squad at all. Our squad is locked private and we can't change that nor can we leave for another squad. That was when it first came out so I am not sure if things changed or not.

No you're thinking of 10 v 10 BF3 probably. BF4 will be perfect in a couple of years when you are playing your "backlog".

Definitely was and IMHO one of the better groups in the WC. Just the fact that we made it out of group play is awesome!!

this was the case a few weeks ago, for a few players you can eventually get on the same team, but on the other hand if you have your rooster of players, at least 3, and 5 being better, it works, your entire squad will be put on the same team, instead of spending a round or two all trying to get on the same team as your mates.

the other draw back you can only use it with quick matches on basic maps only.
