I have similar feelings to Ben (of course I'm complaining). I do not like how the maps have tons of buildings with tons of entrances and windows to camp from. Some of my frustration comes from a lack of map knowledge and being shot from places I didn't even know existed. Pearl Market is SO ANNOYING. It's like Flood Zone with no water. Lo, I don't know how you see Grand Bazaar in that map. Lumphini Garden isn't too bad, but it's very annoying because it's just a big wide open field. It's a sniper paradise. All you do is run around as you hear pew-pew-pew whizzing around your head. Propaganda is a nice map, other than the fact that the vehicles are useless. There's so much infantry and the streets are full of obstacles so your tank can be destroyed very, very quickly. But this map is an actual BF map, not something trying to appeal to CoD fans. Sunken Dragon... ugh, more water, thanks? So, let's put one point in the middle of the water so you have to swim over. You have a building in the middle of a ton of water, and then a few parking lots and some sniper towers. I don't like this map much either. And how can I forget the 100 foot ceiling on this map. I have a GREAT idea, let's put a chopper on the map, but keep the ceiling low so that not only will the plethora of lock-on noob weapons cause issues (as well as the other chopper), but it will be easy to shoot it down with an RPG/SMAW since it's so low. The choppers have such strong defenses, we have to neutralize that somehow...
All said, I am disappointed, but that should have been expected since the DLC maps have not been that great. I was actually really excited when I started playing because this style of gameplay is what has been missing from BF4 (IMO). They are infantry focused, with a few vehicles sprinkled in. The style is similar to Siene Crossing and Grand Bazaar as you can be effective with any of the classes in the game. In most of the vanilla maps, the assault class is useless because you are much more effective as either an engineer, support, or recon. Other than the vanilla maps that I hate (Flood Zone, Golmud Railway), I prefer them over all of the DLC maps. I'm disappointed because I feel like this is really what I have been waiting for. [/END RANT]
In case, anyone was wondering, I actually do have fun playing the game. I guess I'm just like everyone else who thought Bad Company 2 was better than BF3, because I'd much rather play BF3 with the BF4 graphics and player count rather than play Battle-Lock-On-Tank-Stuff-Sniper-Field 4.
