The game isn't going to have micro transactions from what I read earlier today. Should keep grinding times low when they're NOT selling you what you're grinding for. I agree if it's too much like Destiny when I played then it's a no-go.

There are also varying tiers of loot that are all color coded to designate their quality. White-colored gear is common, greens are a little less common, blues are rare, etc.

Experience

All weapons and equipped gear are gated by level, so if you’re at level six and you find a level-eight assault rifle, you can’t use that weapon until you level up. That only happens if you gain experience, and there are numerous ways to do that. Obviously, killing enemies grants experience (and this seems like the best way to gain experience in the Dark Zone, which has a separate leveling system and gear), but so does discovering previously unexplored parts of the city or giving ordinary citizens spare items you might have in your inventory (they might even give you a piece of clothing to equip in exchange).

Talents

Talents are passive abilities, divided into the same categories as skills, and they offer things like a reduction to recoil while in cover, or an increased chance that a status effect leveled at one enemy will spread to multiple nearby targets.

Customization

The Division offers a lot of customization. Skills, talents, perks and other such abilities are designed to let you examine them and decide which ones benefit your playstyle or are most effective in any given situation. It’s also worth pointing out that there’s a lot of cosmetic customization; at the beginning of the game, you can customize some of the physical traits of your agent, but throughout the game, you’ll find gear that lets you change the appearance of your jacket, pants, headwear, eyewear, and more.

Watching the videos of the higher level stuff I can already see people's complaints about the bullet sponges.

I love everything about the game that I've seen. But the fact that a head shot doesn't kill something, kind of takes the realism away. Game like this needs to be robots or aliens so it takes away that disconnect.

True, but then again the precision with which people land consecutive head shots in video games isn't realistic either. We'd be dropping the AI's left and right.

Remember it is an RPG not an FPS, so there are underlying mechanics that dictate the outcome of damage.

This game will see a huge launch and a probably just a large decline to a steady dedicated player base. I'm sure there will be instances where headshots will result in insta-kill

Ooh I forgot about the bullet sponge. It took way to many shots to the head to down someone, not 2-4 shots but more like 15-20. I know it was an alpha but man that was terrible. Hope to see some changes in the beta.

The Division

I think everyone is just tired of getting burned by Ubisoft and are in a wait and see approach. They promise so much and seem to always under deliver.

Once again, at least in videos I've watched, the graphics are not even close to what they originally showed. I know graphics aren't everything but, I'm personally sick and tired of Ubisoft showing these incredible looking E3 videos and claiming they are actual gameplay only to have the final game fall well short of that mark. It's like they only care about building hype and not what hits shelves, otherwise they'd be honest about the graphics up front.

I am actually planning to build out a new PC with The Division as a primary (but not sole) focus. One of the main attractants is the steam link box so I can still utilize my 120" screen and projector. I have really enjoyed the non-fiddling nature of consoles, but comparing some gameplay videos it's just starting to become too appealing.

I got a beta code for ps4, and PC. Downloading the beta on my laptop now. I'm on the road for 3 weeks, so I can't do the PS4 one. When does the beta end?

I feel that Ubisoft should've clarified this isn't an actual beta test and more of a public teaser/showing. The terms beta & alpha are proving to be very challenging.

The developers have mentioned using it for server load testing and they have a beta forum available for users to report bugs. What else would make it more of a beta?

I'll be on PS4 if anyone wants to link up, lacombo78. just add avs to fr message. Was in the Alpha on xbox and can say the beta has improvements. Max level is 8 and pretty easy to reach. Dark Zone an be good team play or all for one at any point max level 12. I'm in central and xbox went live like about 3am.

the sense of full bugs and builds. i know they are past that point and are essentially just testing server loads and any other possible bugs. a Stress test, might be more inline with where the game is currently at.
