Hello everyone, I am going to copy and paste my question from a different forum:

Alright guys I could do with some help here please, situation is I'm getting my PS4 on the 29th and have been trying to decide whether to upgrade the HDD before I start using it, I also have a few questions for anyone that knows the definite answer.

Bit of info about my gaming situation, in recent times I haven't played a great variety of games however on the PS4 I want to definitely try new types of games and play a lot more (including games from PS+)

I also have a £5 Amazon voucher to use on products sold my Amazon by the 19th Nov, and don't want to spend so much on a HDD if I can - around the £50 mark.

At the moment I'm looking at these two HDDs:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Seagate-inch-5400RPM-Drive/dp/B007NVGWV0/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digital-WD10JPVX-Internal-Drive/dp/B00C9TEBJQ/ref=sr_1_13?m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1384633267&sr=1-13&keywords=internal+hdd

However I would like to know what you guys think.

Is it enough space?
Will it fit in the PS4?
Is there a best brand for HDDs?

Is there any benefit in getting a SATA 3 when the PS4 is only SATA 2?

Another thing was if I were to keep the default HDD, do HDDs get damaged if you keep deleting data and re-installing when needing to create space?

Thanks to anyone who took the time to read and or help me out.

either of those would work fine -- and its probably a good idea to do it upfront then down the road where you ened to transfer all the data -- but ihave had 500 GBs on my ps3 for 2 years before i started having to remove stuff -- and its easy to tell which stuff to remove -- since you haven't played it in a year or so smile.gif'

and no it doesn't hurt a drive to erase it.

At least it supports changing the internal drive. XBox One doesn't support changing the internal drive OR using external drives for games. Just gotta delete games when full.

Xbox One doesn't support External Drives at launch but support is coming and for more than just games.

Yeah, but no release date. I'm in the IT industry and when Microsoft says a feature is coming in the future but doesn't give a release date, it can literally be years before it happens.
