Sure it is. They can still be found for cheap. Comparable TV's still output a picture quality that still only matches it, not really besting it. You lose out on 3D capability, I guess... but some of us it doesn't matter too much.

(This is all just MY opinion, of course!)

I am a huge "upgrade-itis" individual, but the Kuro is a TV that I've not felt the real desire to upgrade for 6 years now...

Well, of course I recommend all reviews be taken with a grain of salt, but I'm seeing similar reviews from several sites.

http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-tvs/panasonic-tc-p60zt60/4505-6482_7-35567247.html

This one beats my in-house Kuro, and every other TV in my lab. Finally. The TC-PVT60 also beat our in-house Kuro...

And keep in mind we aren't talking to someone that's considering something new to replace a Kuro.

If you're getting a panasonic plasma, this is the year to get it before they stop making them.

I like gaming on my Panasonic 50S60. One of the better TV's out there when it comes to lag. Not a great choice if you have a bright room though.

Second this, I just got a 65S60, love it. Looked long and hard at the VT's, but couldn't justify the extra $1k with OLED around the corner.

Well, they are technically available...if you have the coin.
