Im looking for great picture quality, great colors, and a good lag input also no ghosting thats great for gaming. My budget is 15-2,000. I have a Panasonic ST30 myself and would normally recommend Panasonic plasmas. However. I previously read that the ST60 had some input lag beyond what is typical. No clue if this is true, but you should look into it.

Heh I'm in a similar boat, but I also want something for movies. Considering plasma for the PQ, but we will see. From what I have read the Sony W900 is one of the best gaming units out there due to low lag, if only it came in 65in that didn't cost as much as a new house. Will likely pickup a new set next weekend in case you are still searching, let ya know what I get/my results.

Yup. PS4, PS3, 360, gamer to the core wink.gif. Biggest reason I've wanted a new tv is for gaming/movies. I'll send you a PM/email with my impressions if I get the sony or whatever. Best Buy is going to have a Sammy 65UNF7100 for ~2k (pre-tax if you have sales tax) on black friday. It has about 40ms lag from what I've seen and doesn't have bad reviews. There is a dedicated forum too. I know my wife wants to upgrade from our 46in so it's def something that is going to happen, just need to find a set I wont regret.

Some other Playstation gamers have given good praise to the Panasonic plasmas and from what i've seen the PQ is phenomenal.

Have you heard of issues with the VT or ZT series Pannys? I have an 60" ST50 right now, and thinking about getting a 65" VT to replace it before we can't get Pannys anymore, moving the ST50 to the game room. We do still game some in the movie room though, so I would hate to end up with a set that has lag. The ST50 has been a FANTASTIC set.

Games look and play great on my Samsung F8500. No input lag that I can detect and a fantastic picture.

500 gigs FTW.

I don't know if I can justify $1000 more than the VT just to have one pane of glass removed. The reviews I have been reading say the VT and ZT perform equally well unless you are watching it from almost a 90 degree angle. I don't ever plan on doing that. smile.gif

No idea on the lag?

I read the same but I did read that the ZT was better for daytime viewing. My living room is a little bright during the day.

Its only a $700 difference wink.gif

Last I read the ZT60 on game mode was 23ms. I could be remembering this number wrong though.

In the 60 series the ST is an amazing value for non-gamers but this year it has too much lag.

The VT60 and ZT60 have very little lag and are a great choice.

I have the VT60 and find it very reflective. I struggle with my blinds showing (even when closed) during the daytime. But it is so awesome in every other regard that I deal with it. cool.gif

Hey guys, similar boat here. Wanting to upgrade my current set up which is a 5 year old 60 inch DLP tv. I want a TV that is 70 inches or greater, and I will be watching 3d on it (preferably active 3d) as well as playing my PS4 and XBox One. I looked into projectors but I don't have the space in my house for one. Also, I like the sound of the new UltraHD sets coming in 2014, but not sure how much those will cost or when they will be available so with the deals over the next week, just wanting to get recommendations on sets from the guys who know in case there is a good deal. I've looked around and I'm not quite sure between the 240Hz, and the different types (Plasma, OLED, etc.) so looking for any help or suggestions you guys might have. Thanks!

The Sony W900A, is one of the leading tv's for input lag at 18ms, especially in your price range. Unfortunately, it only comes in 55". Everything I have read about this tv (trust me, it has been a lot) has been really promising. From its quick input lag to its Triluminos display technology(which is unique to Sony). This tv really shines, even when compared to higher priced tvs. If your looking for a gaming tv or just a tv in general and you can deal with a 55", I'll go on record and say this tv is the best one you can get for under 2k.

Might I add, if you want a Plasma, the Panosonic ST60 is pretty freaking sweet as well. A buddy of mine has this tv and it is very, very impressive, unfortunately, the input lag sucks compared to others. Comes in 50,55,60, and 65" I think so you have your options. I think the 60' is around 1.5k

You know I looked heavily at the 65vt60 before discarding that set due primarily to fears of image retention and low abl readings. I also prefer passive 3d and really want 70" lol. How do you find that set coming from a gamers perspective????

i love love love my 65VT60, but maybe some of that is confirmation bias heh cool.gif

signals from gaming systems and blu-ray are jaw dropping. content from comcast cable is hit/miss depending on the show.

Having upgraded from a 46" to 65" its been nothing but AMAZING! There is a greater sense of immersion now with everything just being nice and close. Can't be 100% sure if there is any lag, but so far gaming has been exactly what I've been hoping for!

If you pick up that Sony let me know what you think. I had eye'd it, but between the movie watching ratio and the wife approval factor the Samsung won out.

I just got the W900. You'll love it. Great response in game mode, and the blacks in cinema mode were fantastic.

Enjoying BF4 on the PS4, bugs and all.
