It's $20 with a skin pack for $.99 also available.

Apparently there's not yet been confirmation on cross buy, cross play, or release date (other than 2014) for PS4 or Vita.

My kids are playing happily...

I almost bought it right away, but decided to download the demo instead. I am glad I did, the framerate is all over the place, sometimes dropping to zero. Not a good port of the game.

For now I will be content doing speed challenges in the demo world with it's time limit. Got to the Nether last time with about a minute to spare. Next up is getting full Iron Armor without touching any preplaced objects.

Was thinking of picking this up as well, thanks for the impressions. I will hit the demo and see for myself how bad the frame rate is. Anyone know if there's a day 1 patch for the game? Might have a fix in there.

Yeah my kids ran into the patch as well and they said it definitely helped with an issue where they were having trouble with inventory. Not sure what exactly. 8 year olds aren't the clearest diagnostic technicians!

I ran the demo a couple of times with the patch included. Seems fine on the frame rate, it feels like a smooth 60fps but I think it's not locked because it definitely varies. I want to spend more time with the inventory and crafting system, see if I like it or not. If I can work with it I see Minecraft being my go to, kick back and relax game smile.gif

Frame rate seemed fine to me. They say it is the same as "the other console versions", which at this point is only the 360. If true it supports 4-player split screen, 8-players online and 4-player split screen with 4 online. I'd like to know if I can buy it once, install it on both of my PS3s, then play 2-player split screen on both for 4 players together online in the same house (there is no lan support).

Update: Bought it last night. You can play splitscreen or install on two PS3s and play co-op, I think it just lets you join friend's maps if they have it open. They can set it to invite only. The weird thing is you need an online enabled account to join, even for split screen. So I tried to log in with my daughter's account while I was playing and it said she is not allowed to play online games, but it was just splitscreen! So that strangness aside, the game is intact, the frame rate is fine. Even the skin support is in, I bought the holiday skins for $0.99.

Now playing: Madden, Diablo 3, First Light, PvZ: GW
