What's the best settings for the wireless gold headset, for a game like CoD: Advanced warfare? Like for the bass, 1 or 2...

When you plug it in and the light is red. It is still charging. When the red light is gone. Its full. Hold down VSS to disable it. Do the same to enable it. I have mine disabled personally and think it sounds much better with it off.

I agree with fatty I use setting 2 with VSS OFF. You can tell if VSS is on or off by the on-screen notification bar that comes up when muting, etc. If it has a circle around the headphones icon (I believe it shows a icon of headphones but I'm just going by memory) then VSS is ON, no circle around it, VSS is OFF.

What kind of usb cable does the gold use to charge? I want to buy a longer one so I can use it while charging. Assuming you can. And does the ps4 have a thing that expands its usb ports?

It uses usb to micro usb like most android phones. I know some use USB hubs but I haven't gotten one because I can't find any good info on which ones will work. I saw that Gamestop was supposed to sell one specific for the PS4 but the date of release keeps changing.

A small micro USB charger is perfect for the Golds. No need to be hooked into the system to charge

Thanksgiving can be a sham, but it's a sham with yams. It's a yam sham.

I haven't googled it. But I'm guessing it plugs into a outlet?

Would any version work as long as its micro?

The Gold Wireless Stereo Headset has a female micro-USB much like most non-Apple smartphones.
You use a USB to micro-USB cable as the interconnect between a phone charger and the headset.

Basically, you can charge the headset like you do your phone, using the same cable even. If you have an Apple device, plug the usb cable into the Apple charger.

There is nothing more to explain than that. Happy gaming.

I left out the part that's already been said which is, the headset comes with a cable, and you have to option to plug right into the front of the PS4.

I recently got the Pulse Elites and I cannot get them to work with the ps4 wirelessly. They will work if I have the 3.5mm jack plugged into the controller. As soon as it is unplugged, they go silent. The ps4 never recognizes them being connected.

Plugs into your computer or cable box too.

Does anyone make an over-ear chat headset for PS4 that isn't total ****? The earbud that comes with the controller should be classified as a torture device, I don't want to buy a full set of stereo of 5.1 cans just for PS4 like I have on X1, and it doesn't look like there is an easy way to just add a mic to the nice Sennheiser I have anyway.... All I want is something comfortable that will let me use my sound setup as is...

Both of those are whole ear covering units tho, I want something that I can still hear my room through, as you can with the xbox earpieces.

I use this one. It's an on-ear earpiece.

Any thoughts on these?

http://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-G...ngston+hyper+x

I know they're only stereo, but these will see limited use while staying in an extended stay hotel for the next month. I like that they plug directly into the DS4, and don't require any other cables. My only concern is the chat quality...I can't find too many reviews on that.

I figure it's either these or the Gold wireless. I need to pull the trigger on something today.

Referring to the Turtle Beach communicators...
Reviews indicate that they are not very loud and users can still hear outside noise/sounds. They may cover your ear, but I doubt they will drown out every external sound. They'd have to be super tight to even begin to do so. Anything you put in, on, or over your ear is going to affect how well that ear detects external sounds. It's up to you to see which device gives you the best balance.

A buddy of mine bought the Dreamgear Broadcaster headset for PS4. I think it's over ear (looks like the original XBOX 360 headset). He likes it and I have no complaints with the way it sounds for chat.

You asked for "over-ear" so that implies whole. Had you said "on ear" than I could have been more helpful
