I figured I'd start a new thread to keep the PS4 thread a little less cluttered.

For those who don't know, this is the April Free PS4 game.

I just added it to my download queue at work so it will be ready for me to play when I get home. Really psyched for this game.

Looks like a lot of fun. Reminds me of a Metal Slug. This should be a lot of fun for online and local co-op.

Oh it is free with PS+, yes biggrin.gif

Where do I go online if I want to download it remotely? On here it says "coming soon"

Just over 300 MB download. Not going to complain too much about it being our Plus for the month since I was buying it anyway but they really need to start giving full games out soon.

As someone that owns a Neo Geo MVS arcade cabinet with all the Metal Slug games this is definitely Metal Slug: Evolved, for fans of that series this is a great addition to the genre.

It's more involved than the Metal Slug games but gameplay is very reminiscent of the MS series with elements from other games tossed in (re-load Gears of War style).

Reminds me a lot of Contra and Ikari Warriors type retro games. Liked what I saw so far.

Contra was the first thing that came to my mind also.

I'm really loving this game. I forgot how unforgiving these types of games are, kinda reminds me of Mega Man in that aspect.
I had an issue with remembering to transfer items from my supply box to my backpack at first. I didn't see any tips on that, maybe I missed it.
I think the Rations work better than the First Aid kit since you can hold 5 of them. I'd love to get some co-op going here with some of you.

Add me - HazeDG13

Also, for those that are wanting to see free PS4 games, I think that is going to take some time. This early in the life-cycle of a system is way too soon for Sony to be losing money on game sales. There are only a handful of full games out right now and that''s their only way to make money on the PS4. I for one am happy to see games like this, Resogun, Outlast, etc. These are games that most of us wouldn't buy but are having a lot of fun playing them.

Keep the indie games coming!

Played for about 30 mins last night. Fun concept but I couldn't beat the second mission. It was so frustrating not knowing what to do/where to go that I probably wont give much of a second look.

"Damn, you can't get black levels like that on your projector!"

Use the touchpad on your DS4 to pull up the map and look for the X.

On the second mission where you have to save x amount of hostages there is no "X". There are two sections of the map that are blocked by obstacles. I cannot jump over them, cannot blow them up with C4, and cannot knife them. I failed based on time because I cannot get past those two obstacles.

Oh, that mission. You have to find all the hostages, most of them are in rooms, you have to press "UP" to enter the doors. Some are in crates outside some of the doors. Use your knife to free them. 2 of the doors bring you to different parts of the maps (POW North and POW South) Once you find all 8 hostages, you will complete the mission.

So...I picked it back up last night, beat that mission I was stuck on and now am pretty hooked on the game. The learning curve was pretty steep for me, I still dont fully understand the crafting of weapons, but overall I had lots of fun. I met up with 2-3 other players and went towards missions. We failed quite a bit before I started to catch on and remember to use my health perks. Crafted a submachine gun (weird that its still semi automatic) but its lame because enemies usually only give you a certain amount of time to hit them. Much better so far going with a very high damage low magazine weapon, like the hand cannon or shotgun. Sniper is pretty good too since you can shoot all the way cross the screen.

This game is awesome.

I may like this game even more than Resogun. I like that we’re not getting premier titles just yet, as I likely would’ve looked over Mercenary Kings and not paid $20 for it. I played some online co-op last night and it’s pretty fun. You definitely need to stock up on rations and adrenaline shots though. Still haven’t figured out how to revive a teammate.

I agree on the free games part. I'd love to try some co-op. Add me, HazeDG13.

Can't say its better than Resogun, but its pretty fun. Game crashes frequently though, kinda annoying when it crashed on the way back from a successful mission when you have to redo the mission.

Stand over fallen teammates and "use" your adrenaline shot to revive them.

I'll add you next time I'm on PS4 this week. Probably won't be able to play until Wednesday or Thursday evening. Need to pick up a new chat headset, as the OEM PS4 headset is pretty lame and falls out of my ear.

Thanks, I only played for a little over an hour last night, but had hell trying to figure out to revive a teammate. So far the game has not crashed on me once.
