I don't remember a code but that was a year ago. Did try some MP but apparently no one is on yet.

Just installed the disc. Man, that's a speedy install. Time to dive in and experience what this game has to offer. Thank you for refraining on letting loose any spoilers!

Holy crap!! the game was super loud with the gun shots coming from my surround channels. I had to turn the volume down.

Anybody go into the audio settings and only see two options under channels? I get "Auto (2.0ch)" or "2.0ch". My ps4 is outputting LPCM over HDMI. I think it may just be a settings glitch

After half hour of monkeying with settings in game, ps4, and receiver,a HDMI cable swap was the solution. Jeeze!

And that's just the default dynamic range.

Turn it up to the highest level and everything sounds even quieter, so you'll innocently turn the volume up...

I always knew I would get this game one day when it came out but didn't jump on it due to my backlog. I never bothered to read the storyline or watch any trailers or gameplay sequences on purpose because I didn't want to ruin my experience. I popped my disc in last night and I am in love.

I won't be playing anything else for a while.

I always go into the options before starting a game and adjust the brightness and audio settings. Naughty Dog has always been great at what they allow you to tweak in terms of audio. I wish other developers would allow you that much control.

I set mine to Studio Reference 7.1 with maximum dynamic range and tweaked the speaker azimuths to be in line with my actual surround setup. Set the volume to what I normally watch movies at and it is quite the experience. The Last of Us still has some of the best audio I've ever heard in a game.

Also, just for giggles, lock the framerate to 30fps and play for a few minutes, then go back and turn the lock framerate off. People that claim you need to play it at 30fps because it's more cinematic are full of it. The input latency alone makes the 30fpa nearly unplayable.

There is a section pretty early in the game where you are in a building that is creaking all around you while rain is falling outside. Best audio I've ever heard in a game, close your eyes and spin slowly around and it's just crazy. I haven't started the main game yet on PS4 but I can't honestly imagine it being any better.

I realized last night that somewhere along the line my L and R rear speakers got switched... LOL... I am trying to play without "listening" mode and I got jumped because I was trying to find the clicker that I could hear was DEFINITELY off to my right...

Survivor is the way to go. You're on the edge and with low ammo and ammunition, you'll have to think of good strategies!

I was playing with my surround headphones last night. The audio design is wonderful, thunderstorms, clickers, runners in the distance, all sounds awesome.

This game is like a painting in motion. It could probably take 100 hours to complete the game if I took a screen shot every time I feel something is screenshot thread worthy.

One option I would like ND to add later for a cheat once you complete the game is a brightness setting adjust for the levels (the photo mode brightness or whatever it is called where you can make a dark room look like it is bright in the middle of the day). It could make replaying some levels quite a bit different.

Love the game play as well of course. Melee and shooting just feels so good. Taking a hostage for cover then capping a guy in the distance to then finish off the hostage is so satisfying

I debated what level to go but ended up picking Hard (I played through the main game on PS3 on Normal). Based on how my playthrough goes on Hard on Left Behind I might bump up to Survivor for my PS4 main game playthrough...

If "New Game+" works like it did on PS3, your second play through has to be on the same difficulty as the last one. You can always adjust difficulty down in game.

I started my play through on HARD last night and had to step away when I realized it was 3:20 AM! Trying to get all firefly tags, collectibles, optional dialogs too but that makes it a chore. The good thing is the trophies and such will give you credit if you get all items across multiple play throughs. Hence the importance of the initial difficulty selection.

Warning: I make a lot of mistakes but occasionally I learn from them!

I highly recommend to play the main game first. Left behind will spoiled it for you. Unless it's not your 1st play.

Already played it on PS3, so no worries there.

Also, it's a really petty nitpick, but I DO NOT WANT IT TO POST TO MY FACEBOOK PAGE, THANKS. I am already tired of having to manually select that every time I start it up .

I rarely post on Facebook, and nearly all my friends and family post annoying "what happens next is priceless" videos, so letting a video game spam them is kind of a form of payback.

If I get one more Candy Crush invite though...
