Found this on another site. One of the DLC added new variants and I believe they are missing from this list.

Here is a full list of the class variants, along with what's different about each of them (as far as I could tell)...

PLANT VARIANTS

Peashooter
- Fire Pea: burning shots
- Ice Pea: freezing shots
- Toxic Pea: toxic shots and toxic aura
- Commando Pea: faster rate of fire; less range; loses splash damage
- Agent Pea: sniper shots (crits)

Sunflower
- Metal Petal: more health and moves slower
- Mystic Flower: charged shots
- Power Flower: electric shots
- Fire Flower: burning shots
- Shadow Flower: faster rate of fire but has less range

Chomper
- Toxic Chomper: toxic spray and toxic aura
- Hot Rod Chomper: gains speed boost while chewing a zombie
- Fire Chomper: flame spray
- Power Chomper: electric spray
- Count Chompula: gains back health after eating a zombie

Cactus
- Camo Cactus: very far range; increased damage; less ammo; slow reload
- Fire Cactus: burning shots
- Ice Cactus: freezing shots
- Power Cactus: electric shots
- Future Cactus: charged shots

ZOMBIE VARIANTS

Foot Soldier
- Camo Ranger: sniper shots (crits)
- Super Commando: triple shot; reload after every shot; fast reload
- General Supremo: gatling gun (uses overheat like All-Star)
- Tank Commander: explosive shots
- Arctic Trooper: freezing shots

Engineer
- Welder: burning shots
- Electrician: electric shots
- Mechanic: rapid fire shots
- Painter: increased damage; splash damage
- Plumber: explosive shots

Scientist
- Physicist: electric shots
- Marine Biologist: increased range? dolphin gun!
- Dr. Toxic: toxic shots and toxic aura
- Astronaut: longer range
- Chemist: high damage; short range

All-Star
- Baseball Star: longer range
- Cricket Star: burning shots
- Goalie Star: freezing shots
- Hockey Star: toxic shots?
- Rugby Star: explosive shots

--------------------------------

A specific variant sticker for a class is awarded in each level pack from level 6-10, so by level 10 you've unlocked all 5 stickers and the complete variant. However, these are *not* exclusive to the level packs, and have been reported to have been found in the Spectacular Character Packs as well. I have no idea what you get in the level packs instead if you have already unlocked the variant. The following is the list of these level 10 variant rewards...

- Pea Shooter: Fire Pea
- Sunflower: Metal Petal
- Chomper: Toxic Chomper
- Cactus: Camo Cactus?

- Foot Soldier: Camo Ranger
- Engineer: Welder
- Scientist: Physicist
- All-Star: Baseball Star?

Here is the 4 that I have unlocked via Card Packs so far: Law Pea, Physicist, Electrician, and Sky Trooper. (I'm guessing fire chomper is normal...didn't mean to show him).

I couldn't find the page that shows you their stats and characteristics though.

I like the Law Pea but don't miss, low pea capacity and slower reload.

I got the arctic zombie last night and I am using him now and I really like him. He slowly freezes the plants until they can't move.

Is this game fun offline and offline co-op? Thinking it might be fun to play with my 8 year old.

He loves the iPad version of PvZ2, which of course is a completely different style of game.

Are the "loadouts" like BF4 where you can customize weapons? Or is it just selecting different character variants and appearances as you unlock them?

If he likes the series, I think he will get a kick out of the game. The co-op is you have to defend your garden against waves of zombies.

You can edit upgrades to the abilities only. They might not always be an upgrade for some, its usually a compromise. For instance, the pea shooter has the chili bean bomb, you can get a sombrero chili bean bomb in one of the packs and the difference is it has a bigger bang but the fuse is much longer so it gives time for the enemy to run away.

For the weapons they are attached to the character variants.

Just in case some of you didn't know.

The best packs, in my opinion, are the 20k and 40k. The 10k isn't bad but you are less likely to get upgraded abilities and sticker pieces to create new characters. The 20K usually gives you at least 2 upgrades/pieces to unlock characters. The 10k will usually give 1. Both 20K packs I opened up today had 3 pieces. The 40k is a guarantee unlock of a character. Once you unlock them all it will only give out abilities and other stickers you might need to finish up on creating characters. The 30K zomboss pack only gives you stickers for the newer characters. So I would only waste the coins if you have most/all of the new characters. This still doesn't guarantee you will get things you want.

Newer characters
Sun Pharaoh
Law Pea
Armor Chomper
Bandit Cactus

Sky Trooper - Foot Soldier
Landscaper - Engineer
Archaeologist - Scientist
Wrestling Star - All Star

I agree,

I always save up for the 20k. I like having a chance for weapon upgrades too.

Thanks, I downloaded it last night. Both kids enjoy the co-op mode where it is wave after wave.

I take it you can't be the zombies when doing split-screen co-op?
