What projector are you using for PS4?

720p or 1080p and manufacturer. Also what do you think of the image? Are you using it for 3D? Any PS4 sync issues?

Thanks.

I'm using an Optoma HD33 1080p 3D DLP projector.

Image has been insane since day one (fall 2011). I even test drove a few newer models last fall since my bulb was getting dim and decided to just get a new bulb since she still looked as good, if better, than newer models in her price range $1000-1500.

I haven't used 3D with the PS4 but I have a bit with my PS3 and a ton with my gaming rig. Works flawlessly with little to no ghosting and enough lumens to spare.

Zero PS4 Sync issues on a 50 foot HDMI run.

Sony HW-50ES. Incredible image. No 3D. No sync issues - short HDMI run from PS4-AVR, 40' HDMI run from AVR to PJ (40' utraslim redmere from monoprice).

BenQ W1070. 1080p.

One of the main reasons I got the W1070 was to use it with PS4. I tried Infamous Second Son on my previous 720p projector, and it just lacked that oomph, if you know what I'm sayin... Part of it, was the fact that my previous projector had a bulb with a ton of hours on it, and it was quite dim at this point. Still, going to the W1070 was like a night and day difference. The vibrancy while playing Second Son is off the charts.

I most recently was playing the Destiny Alpha on the W1070 and that looked great as well. I've also tried the Trine 2 demo in 3D on it, and it was pretty good, but the 3D Blu Ray movies are much more impressive. Avatar looks almost as good as going to the local cineplex.

As for Sync issues, sometimes when the PS4 changes resolutions, the projector will loose the signal for a second or two, and then everything will be fine.

Thanks, very insightful. Per Anthony1, anyone else try a 720p projector with it?

I was mostly happy with my Infocus IN76 before I "upgraded" to a 1080p Optoma HD131Xe. The difference in resolution is really impressive and I wouldn't recommend 720p if you can avoid it, but I also wouldn't recommend this projector because the color wheel must spin slower or something because I can really see rainbows with it. Regretting not going with the BenQ or a higher Optoma, if they have faster color wheels.

I am currently using an Epson 8500UB. Its 1080p and works well with no issues to speak of. I am thinking about upgrading this fall to the Panasonic 8000 or whatever they come out with next. I am wanting to move to a cinemascope screen for movies and maybe The Order 1886. I hear it's in cinemascope too.

Well, we decided on an Optoma H180X 720p from Amazon (like new model for $395--it was an unopened box and did not say refurb, so it really was new. The normal full retail box was $450, so very good deal.). Anyway, it works great with the PS4 on a 100" 1.0 screen. Very bright (3000 lumens) and can watch with the lights on. We both remarked about how deep the blacks are, yet could see fine detail in the shadows. 3D bluray is outstanding and not dark to watch. This projector is small, and very, very quiet. We could hardly hear it over our heads. While a 1080p might give a little more oomph to the resolution, I doubt if it would be worth the extra $$ for my son. I have an Optoma 131x on a 160" 2.5 Dalite Highpower and love it, but the H180x compares very well and is brighter on the 100" screen.

Epson 8700ub. No synch issues. Although I would rather game on my F8500 plasma.

Acer 5360H - 720p 3D -- just replaced the factroy bulb after 6500 hours.

had to attach it to a Viewsonic VPL3D for 3-d processing but otherwise - works great -- very bright and can be viewed with lights on. had it for 3 years i at least -- workd great for me!

am thinking about upgrading to a 1080p -- but wife says this one is fine ---- so....
Also have the resolution synch gap (about 4 seconds delay) but other than that -- it's fine.

Epson 8350 here. I got it over other projectors specifically because of it's low lag for gaming. Lovin it.

Sony HW50-ES. Great picture, no noticeable lag in gaming mode. Gaming mode has blue tint but I think thats supposed to help with contrast.

Sitting in a box for the last 4 months because I decided to tear out my basement and rework into a more finished space.

"Damn, you can't get black levels like that on your projector!"
- My brother, just before he realized his LED display had died.

Epson 5030UB.

It's fantastic for streaming and blu-ray movies.

It's not fantastic for gaming. You have to put the projector into Fast Mode to get the input lag down to a usable level. But doing that turns off most of the image processing and leaves you with very bad image quality. At the end of the day, I don't use it for gaming. I purchased it 80% for movies and 20% for gaming, as I knew that I probably wouldn't want to play competitive FPS on it even if the input lag was acceptable. So, I am a little disappointed in the result.

I've used my Panasonic PT-AE3000U on both PS3 and PS4 and love it.
1080p 2D
No Sync problems at ALL

Warning: I make a lot of mistakes but occasionally I learn from them!
