3D trouble

got the 3d emitter for my JVC X35 for birthday. PJ is set on 3d auto.. Having trouble playing Avatar 3D on PS3. the menu on the Avatar shows that the player is not 3D capable. I have the latest updates for the PS3. I am not showing any screen that asks for screen size. Using a 100" screen with high speed 2.0 StraightWire cable.. what am I doing wrong?

Update: hooked up ps to PJ and got picture. forgot that AVR doesn't pass 3d signals.. The picture is working but glasses not working. Glasses are for ps3, not synced up.. maybe a little more charging is needed..

If you goto Display setting, then select video output settings and run through this the last setting that shows up is screen size. Haven't had my PS3 for awhile but I think this will answer one of your questions.

thanks , that worked. Now how do I get sound from my optical output on the ps3? My receiver does not pass 3D so I have to go out from PS3 to my projector via HDMI . Sound will be from optical to receiver. thanks in advance.

I chose the optical settings in the ps3 but still no sound..

My receiver doesn't pass 3D either. Some where in the sound settings there should be an option to output both HDMI and optical. This worked for me anyway. So you'd run the projector to the PS3 via HDMI and the receiver to your PS3 via optical.
