Mu Ps4 pro won't connect to my new LG 4k YV. No picture just sound ( it ddi connect properly on my 1080P Plasma). Thought I had a defective one so I returned it for another one; same issue. I went to Best Buy where I purchased the TV for some ideas. They thought that maybe I didn't have a 4k compatible cable but I do (Blue jeans cable Co.).
The manager decided to google the problem after we exhausted some other ideas and here is what he found. It "does" have problems connection to some 4K Tv's.
I am having the same issue with my PS4 Pro. I have a Samsung 65JS8500. I also have the PS4 Pro pass thru a Marantz SR5008. This receiver is 4k Ready as they say. When I connect the PS4 Pro directly to the TV I get 4K with no issue. When I pass it thru the Receiver it does not recognize the 4K. I have AudioQuest Cinnamon Cables. They work when connected directly to the TV.
I have gone thru the Safe Mode and made the Pro recognize HDCP 1.4 but still no avail. Just shows 1080P available. Any thoughts on this would be a great help.
I just checked out the manual on your receiver. You need to make sure the HDMI port you are using has pass through turned on. Pages 149-150 in your manual. It says its on by default but I would check just in case. If HDMI pass through is on, you can try to turn off the i/p scaler function. That's on page 151.
I have an LG 4k with no issues at all with the PS4 Pro. What could be happening is the auto detect screen resolution isn't properly recognizing your TV's 4K resolution. Have you tried using different HDMI ports on your TV? Try a different HDMI cable? You can put your PS4 Pro into safe mode and see if you get a picture.
If you go directly into the TV you should be able to get it to work by booting into safe mode (hold power down for 7 seconds until 2nd beep), turn off HDCP and restart it should work. You may also have to set to 1080 at first in this screen too, but it might just work anyway. In order to get 4k/HDR you will also have to enable deep color on the HDMI port you are using on the TV.
thank you, I will give this a try. I'm pretty sure that all of the 3 HDMI ports on the LG 4K will support deep color.
Ironically when I first called their tech support they suggested that I go into the safe mode but I couldn't hear the required two beeps; will try again

you didn't mention that model # of the LG TV you have. You probably didn't enable Ultra HD Deep Color on the hdmi port on the tv that the Pro is connected to. You should also use an HDMI cable rated for 18gbps.
if you have the 7700/8500/9500 or OLED LG models they will all work with the Pro if you use these settings.
I used the HDMI cable that came with the PRO; shouldn't this be sufficient (would they pack in a cable that couldn't do 4k????).
Also bought a cable form the Blue jean cable company this is compliant with all of the new 4K standards according to their website and the association that they belong to.
My Xbox One S has no problem in 4K on this same LG Tv (think the model is 6035, it's new, 2016 model) so I think that I have the HDR mode set correctly.
LG confirmed to me last night that they have a problem with the Pro in 4k and are working on it
Well I did download and install a software update from LG just about an hour ago and it DID NOT fix the problem. According to LG's customer service, this is not the update that will fix the problem. They did mention that it's not only their 4K TV's that is having this problem.
Their engineers are aware of the problem and are working on it but the tech could not give me a time frame for the update.
p.s. the Xbox One S has no problem syncing the picture and sound with this TV. Does a very good job with 4k HDR blu-rays
The update that fixes this issue actually is out already, but not all owners have it yet since they stagger the firmware updates and not everyone gets them at the same time. But many LG OLED owners that were having this issue and got the current update report that it is fixed.
I am waiting for the update myself. And the next one that adds a HDR game mode (which came out today for the C6 and E6 models, but apparently not ready for the B6 models yet).
Once I get these 2 firmware updates my B6 will be perfect! Since my only issues with it at the moment are the HDCP handshake problem with the Pro and the input lag in HDR mode.
unless LG is going to release a seperate version number for the lower models, the fix might not be available for his model
the new fix from LG, which enables an HDR Game mode, is for the 8500/9500/6550 and OLED models:
Anyone have a similar combo? I've heard issues with the PS4 Pro not playing nice with TVs/Receivers (handshaking) so I wanted to throw this out there.
Connecting the PS4 Pro directly to the 850D, no issues (4K 2.2 HDCP and HDR). Soon as I run the PS4 Pro into the Denon and out to the TV, it drops to 1.4 HDCP (no HDR). I know the Denon supports 2.2 HDCP and I am using 2.0 HDMI cables on both ends but could it be due to both the PS4 Pro and 850D using the HD10 HDR standard and the Denon doesn't (not even sure if it does or not)?
Its not a bid deal because I do still get a 4K signal but it would be nice to have the full 2.2 HDCP (HDR) through to the TV. And oh yeah, ARC is not working either. Maybe my 710 is slowly dying? I'm so close to dropping another $200 for the Sony STR770 as I know that plays well with the PS4 Pro.
Wasn't sure where to put this so I went with this thread and the 850D owners thread.

I'm in the same situation with my 2016 Anthem AVM 60. Recently got my PS4 Pro and really want to enjoy all the features it advertises. I have no issues running 4k & HDR through my Anthem except with the PS4 Pro. Just like you when I run the PS4 Pro straight to my Projector (2016 JVC DLA X550R), no issues but running it through my Anthem AVM 60, I'm forced to be in 1.4 HDCP even though the AVM 60 supports full HDCP 2.2 and has no issues with my Roku running 4k content. Whenever I try to run any HDR content on the PS4 Pro in 1.4 HDCP, the image is so dark and I can hardly see anything let alone all the glorious benefits HDR is supposed to bring. It shouldn't be this difficult! 2016 Anthem AVM 60, 2016 JVC DLA X550R & 2016 PS4 Pro. Does Sony need to simply release an update to fix? Been reading about the issues constantly.
is this joke topic or are you guys for real. if you plug the ps4 into the tv direct and it works perfect its not the tv or ps4. its the receiver no matter what you think it has
According John Archer
''The issue is being reported with an alarmingly wide range of different TV models from LG, Samsung, Sony, Philips and Vizio, as well as with multiple brands of AV receiver and sound bar. As if this wasn't bad enough, many other PS4 Pro users are reporting that while they are getting an HDR picture, the PS4 Pro is incorrectly recognising their TV as being incapable of handling 4K in HDR and so limiting them to 2K HDR signals. Even with TVs that handle Ultra HD Blu-rays in 4K HDR with no problems.'' http://www.forbes.com/sites/johnarc...ryone-is-blaming-everybody-else/#50f199633662
I am having this same issue with my KS8000/Ps4 Pro/Denon AVR X1200. If I bypass the receiver the PS 4 PRO will recognize the TV as being UHD capable, if I go through the receiver it does not. That being said my XBOX one S has no issues at all going through the receiver.
Your receiver may have a setting similar to mine. I have a Samsung UN65JS9000 and a Pioneer Elite SC-95. I had to access a hidden menu (the documentation mentions it, but I didn't know to look for it or what it was called) to enable full-bandwidth (18 Gbps) HDMI 2.0/YCbCr 4:4:4 modes through my receiver for my new PS4 Pro to enable HDR. Maybe your Denon has something similar. After doing that, it now shows RGB and YUV420 modes, and HDR in 2K and 4K modes.
