is it just me or does this tv bring out the bad points in the ps2? i have the hlp 4667w and while playing GTA:SA, i have noticed that in certain areas the textures are crappy to the max. for instance, when you walk out of the johnson house and walk under the overpass. look at the ground and the side and bottom of the overpass. it looks horrible. i thought it might be the tv at first because dlp is supposed to have a problem with shadows and dark areas. dvds look great in dark areas. xbox is better now that i changed the colors to warm1, but the ps2 still is just sucking it up. do you guys think it may be the tv or the ps2?

The PS2 simply doesn't look that great especially if you're used to an Xbox or a smaller TV.

Nope, CRT rear projection here. Never heard of a problem with gaming and DLP's though. Like I said before, the PS2 doesn't look that great compared to the Xbox.

Some games just simply look better on older crt based Tv's. I'm playing killzone and on my 27 inch Sony using Svideo the graphics look pretty good but on my 23 inch LCD the graphics look very jaggy and look worse than Quake 2 in some respects.
Now on my Infocus X1 they don't look too bad, which is DLP but it's also not a high def display either.
I think it has something to do with the anti aliasing in the game. If the designers are striving to use this for older sets to make games look less jagged they und up looking worse on an HD display.

Everything looks better on a smaller TV since you don't see as much.

Not necessarily. As I said some PS2 games look better on my 27 inch CRT than my LCD 23 inch HDTV.

That might be because an LCD picture is sharper than a CRT.
