I am thinking about buying a TV that supposedly can only do 30 fps - will this be limiting for video games? How about computer games? Which TVs can do above 30 fps? What will happen if you try to play a game with higher than 30 fps?

The Ntsc Video standard is 30 fps, it has nothing to do with limiting the FPS on a game. As long as your tv an display a 60hz refresh rate (all tvs do) there will be no problem. There is no such thing as a tv limited to 30 fps.

I would look more for a TV that will allow the connections you need including DVI or VGA for a PC and make sure the TV you get is PC compatible.
