I have a pioneer 4340 plasma set and a ps2, i have it connected via component cables.
With the ps2 on i go into the options and set it to 16:9 screen size then i stick matrix reloaded into the ps2.
When the main menu comes up i can see that its not in wide screen mode because the parts beside the menu options is cut off, i then go into the dvd options and see that the tv type is set to 4:3 letterbox and i cant even change that.
I also tried changing the 16:9 option to 4:3 and FULL but it still doesnt output in widescreen.
Anyone know whats going on?
I think you have to change the PS2 RGB setting to yb/cb/cr, something like that to make the component cables to show widescreen. I have no problem playing games in widescreen, and movies either when I used my ps2 for movies..
oktoberrust11: yes my tv was set to full mode, this is how i normally watch dvd's, but it looks like the ps2 is sending a 4:3 signal to the tv no matter what i set it too so full mode stretches it. As do the cinema, zoom and wide settings.
kelo: its set to yb/cb/cr, im running out of ideas here.
