It seems perfectly reasonable that the UMD movies will be more than DVDs since you are paying for the coolness and portability. Also, UMD movies will not sell the quantities that DVDs sell so there is the economies of scale issue.

you're still thinking in terms of older handhelds. Even the DS which is a full generation behind graphically, has games that cost $40. With the PSP smaller and simpler is no longer the case. In many cases the audio production is exactly the same as the console version (see NBA Street Remix). Graphically you're pretty much dealing with Dreamcast graphics and in some cases better, and if I recall correctly most DC games were $50. there are big teams working on many PSP games, and even still games with high production values such as Ridge racers are still selling for $40.

Don't think of it as screendoor, it's more like an infinite game of tic tac toe.

if the ds is released now, and the psp is released now, then how the hell can the ds be a "generation behind"? they are in the same generation...

I won't even consider getting one until there's some solid games released. Namely, some good RPGs that can compare with the better stuff on PS2.

Wow...wow. I'm speechless. Your post and definition have nothing to do with gaming, and I will say again, graphically these 2 handhelds are not sporting graphics of the same generation. Although you are right about the internet being useful, it helped me find this for you...

I'm with you. And what the hell is with Armored Core and Metal Gear?! Both are from action franchises and neither is an actual action game on the psp! Such a waste...

Uh, 15 years ago was 1990, which was SNES, NES, and Genesis days. Games then were $50 to $70 so yes they have not gone up in the last 15 years, in fact even 20 years. If anything they've actually gone down in price over that period.

Why the heck are people expecting 4th generation software out of a first generation wave and not to mention just a system launch? You do realize a lot of the first games didn't even have final hardware until late in the development. They likely aren't even pushing the system. You want major titles like Metal Gear developed on emulation? Come on, the games will come, but a lot of you seem to want every major franchise to have a release on the first day for some idotic reason. Games don't get developed out of mid air.

Those titles could have just as easily been action games. Now I'll either have to wait a long time before those franchises include action titles to the PSP library, or not get any at all. It's really just a matter of my personal preferences and expectations. I'm a follower of the AC and MGS series, and these titles are not what I look for in those games, so I'm just a bit disappointed.
