There really hasn't been anything announced about the actual game yet for GTA 4, very tight lipped.

No kidding that'll be sweet. I can't believe people complain about the $600 for the new system. The Blu-ray player alone pays for itself! besides, it's 2x more powerful than the 360 and 35x more powerful than PS2 so i'm pretty excited. Do you know if it has an HDMI hookup?

HDMI 1.3 support Both systems have plenty of power for some amazing games though, I have no doubts about that

Atleast with Saints Row coming out they have some competition now. I think GTA4 is going to be more different than any of us think.

A lot of people are tired of the series (not me) so they need to add some serious changes to kick some life into it.

I agree. They are going to come out with some off the wall stuff that will blow away the previous games. Just think of GTAIII compared to GTA SA. Crazy what a few years can do huh?

Damn, I've been lied to. I was told that the PS3 was roughly 3.376 times more powerful than the 360 and 62.567 times more powerful than the PS2. I'm guessing that these numbers are off a little.

In all seriousness though, I hope GTA 4 sticks greatly to the formula used for GTA 3 and San Andreas. I want more of the same in this case.

I read this yesterday on PS3.net in the faqs section incase anyone is wondering where I got my info from. The link is here [url=http://www.ps3.net/ps3-faq.php]The PS3 will be twice as powerful as the Xbox 360, 15x more powerful then the Nintendo Revolution. It is said to be 35 times more powerful then the PS2. They had some good info on general questions. Enjoy

This is only one site who really knows for sure. I would say it's somewhere in the middle. I'm sure this will get beat on later tonight or tomorrow.

I was kidding with my numbers. I was jokingly making reference to the fact that saying how much more powerful a game console is has no practical purposes and is made up using some faulty logic or no logic at all. Only PS3 fan sites would make reference to how much more powerful the PS3 is in comparison to other consoles.

That, plus the 'sandbox' game is not original anymore as it is incorporated into many genres. I would love a nextgen Red Dead Revolver/Gun/GTA clone. Gun was a good start minus the port on 360. I am a child of the 90's so I really kept it real like GTA:SA . Ahh to be young and stupid again.

As for the power differences between the 2 systems, that will probaly not be apparent until a few years roll on by, like '08 or so when technical/creative limits are reached. I mentioned elsewhere that Madden will be the equalizer this year and next IMHO. I firmly believe the devs will throw bones on both sides of the fence.

Yeah, most likely propaganda. You can figure that with those kind of sites. Although after seeing what the PS3 has to offer already, I wouldn't be surprised if it was more powerful. Why pull out those stops after already having so much invested?

That sounds cool. Hope Sony adopts the same strategy, but charges less

I've been suffering from GTA withdrawal myself. I'm getting tired of playing linear and even multiplayer games over & over. I wanna be surprised, horrified, challenged, and given free range all at the same time. GTA is one of the few games that does it all and makes you feel every dollar spent was worth it.

I totally agree, San Andreas was one game that was really worth the money, i spent ages on that game. It was huge. Even the "cheats' were to the point. I think we will get our fix when playstation 3 hits the market. And i also cant wait for the next " Alone in the Dark".

Episodic content was announced at E3 as being exclusive to 360. Based on that announcement it shows it won't be available for PS3

What that means is that Like Half Life 2 you will be able to download more scenarios that branch off whatever the original story is going to be for GTA4. Most likely more missions those types of things from XBOX Live. This feature is what they announced as being exclusive eto 360 with the PS3 you get whatever game it is going to be and no extra content to download or purchase unless it is some time exclusive we don't know. Not much details has came on what the Episodic content will be about but that confirms whitch version I plan on getting.

They made it clear episodic content they didn't say added weapons or a new car type although it ain't out of the question but it was very clear episodic(being the clear word) content just like Half Life 2

I was just kidding. But they really didn't make clear what episodic content was at all, I think its fair to speculate it could be like HL2. It could also be like ES:IV paying $5 to play a side quest.. Time will tell.

I would 100% guess it is going to cost some money whatever that cost maybe. But I do hope it will be frequent I don't want to wait 4 or 5 months down the road for episodic content when I will probably be burnt out of the game by then. I guess what got alot of us excited about episodic content when they talked about it back in 01 about the potentials of XBOX Live at the time. They gave examples how developers would be able to do that on a monthly bases but we have yet to see somthing like that go mainstream. Also, what happen with stadium view and customized maps. Please Please Please let them add this as a feature in Halo 3

If the multiplayer is great, we could see more maps and different types of games to play online.

I would think that 360 will get new mission threads to complete. If the 2 games are identical outside of the extra 360 content, Sony could be in trouble. People who own both systems would opt for the 360 version and people may buy a system based on this. I know 3 people who bought PS2 just for GTA (crazy if you ask me)

they must have bought some infomercial time on FX cause they have the countdown for the trailer running right now.

I thought it was like a commercial and they'd let it run for a min or 2 but its been on almost 20mins.

5 days to go, so excited...

X360 was indeed confirmed to have exclusive dloadable content. It was NOT confirmed that the PS3 wouldn't get content of its own.

Maybe the PS3 version does not need downloadable content, thanks to the increased size of the Blu-Ray Disc. It could in fact have locked levels that we open, or just have more levels initially.
