For those of you who got your hands on the system, lets see how the PS3 looks in your setup and/or the games. Tell us what components you have in your system.
Ditto SWOK, beautiful! But, you may end up spending too much time with these electronics and could do you serious mental harm! May I suggest packing them all up and sending them to me. I will be happy to carry your burden of too much fun.
Thank you guys. I put alot of effort into my systems, to make sure that anyone and everyone that see or hears it walks out amazed. Now I know my systems are way out of the price point for most people, but I started out small too.
I have a progression of all my systems over the years I can complie and show you guys if interested.
Very nice room SOWK! I want to comment though on the dedicated theater room. I think in something like a family room it is important to be classy and tasteful with your decorations, which you have done very well with. However, I think the theater room is almost too decorated. One goal I've always had was to minimize distractions and decorations in the room so you can be completely immersed in the program. Things like the wall decorations and that little white statue under the center channel would only serve to distract me.
Don't get me wrong, I like both rooms, you've got great taste in decor, but I think the theater room is a little over-done in that aspect.
I totaly understand. I have done a lot to minimize it already
I may do even more.
The black boxes on each side of the speakers holds a lot of goddies as well, but I didn't like the Cluttered look, so I covered everything up.
I am planning on putting semi transparent black Glass in front of the Receiver/DVD/Head soon.
The little Metal figures above the projector will be going soon to be replaced by some dark wooden baskets that close.
The signs are now above the left and right seat. Not above the projector.
Also my Theater room gets blacker then black... lol. When the lights are out. No leds from any device are seen, and they is no way you can see the head.
Here is my setup. A 61" Samsung HL-S series DLP w/ an XBox 360 and PS3, hidden from each others view so they don't get jealous. I sit 11' back. The speakers are Energy brand, small yet loud and pleasing.
Nope. It's fixed. The center channel has three speakers so I did my best at making sure the bar is in between the 2nd and 3rd. I don't notice a difference from when I had it sitting on top of my CRT.

Beautiful setups dude. Love the X series, serious envy..
I would be interested in the progression you mentioned. I am starting out now, so some guidance would be much appreciated. I know I want to end up with the biggest X series I can afford, so I reckon your choices will work just fine for me =)

I only have about half my systems/setups that I have owned over the years. The other half is on a different computer. (too Lazy to get off the other computer)
I'm only 25, and accumulated the more advanced setups in the last 3 years.
My wife saw me looking at that setup last night and said the exact same thing. No doubt that was Ikea stuff. Must of went to the Schamburg store she said.
Nice to see another person hooking up an LPCM 7.1 channel home theater!
Can I ask what preamp/processor you're planning on using? Not many preamps have HDMI-inputs which accept and can properly decode 7.1-channels of LPCM. It's kinda hard (if not impossible) to find one right now.
Thanks for your advice. And I hope you really enjoy the hell out of it when you get everything set up!
Red definitely puts a new perspective on the setup. I'm moving out shortly so i plan to do a whole new color scheme with of course my black system. I'm thinking earth tone colors with new walnut furniture. Should look awesome!

I picked up a brand new Denon 3806 from tweeters for about $800. The Denon will be used for all my HDMI needs until McIntosh releases there new preamp/processor early next year which will have HDMI ETC. The Denon has worked great so far.
