For those of you who got your hands on the system, lets see how the PS3 looks in your setup and/or the games. Tell us what components you have in your system.

I haven't done any calibration for my HDMI input on the TV, so these aren't very accurate. Quick and dirty pics:

Sub-1080p/60fps is not next-gen.

Wow! Nice screenshots, Viper. F1 is the one game that might make me buy a PS3, once it is available next decade.

Wow, thought pics look fantastic. So F1 demo is playable?

I've played Motorstorm at the store at Circuit City and it does look fantastic and was very fun.. Love the nitrous and how you blow up if you over do it

Awesome. They need to update the kiosk at Circuit City, I was just playing Motorstorm 3 hours ago. I know where I'll be stopping quite often

I'm not the owner. But it's a Samsung HLP-5085. 720p. It was one of the best DLP's in late 2004 - early 2005.

OK Sonny, what is the model of the tv that you have? That is the best pic from a movie and a video game I've seen imho. Now I want a new tv and a ps3(and of course every other console).

Well, I have pictures, but I can't figure out how to make them actually pop up automatically in my post. I can link them in my post, but I can't get them to show up. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this?

Spiff...

When you post in advanced mode, there's a little icon that looks like a postcard with a mountain -- to the left of the link icon. Just click that and put in the web address of the photo you are posting to.

Thoughtful picture posters keep their images to around 640x480.

cruets,
If you plan on leaving the PS3 on top of your AVR, I'm fairly certain you will end up with a problem. Your AVR can't ventilate properly and will overheat. Because of this, your PS3 will also pick up the added heat and may cause an additional problem to your PS3.

You may already know this, and move it off the AVR when the AVR is on. Just trying to save you a future headache and additional expense.

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." - - Stephen Roberts

1. I don't want to play RFoM in 480p (my main gaming HDTV is a Mitsu CRT, 1080i)
2. BluRay movies become mute via optical audio, no sound whatsoever

I'll wait and see if future PS3s come with a built-in scaler and wait for these software bugs to be resolved before I buy a PS3.

But back on topic, I'm loving these pics! Keep 'em coming

Sonny...which XBR2 Sony do you have? I had the 60XBR2 and returned it because the images were too shimmering...and foggy. It looks like you have a different one.

I watched Talladega Nights via optical cable last night.

What is happening is sometimes when the unit is switching from ProLogic of the dashboard to Dolby Digital of a movie or game, it will occasionally stick in PL mode, resulting in no sound. This has happen twice for me. Once I reboot it's fine.

I'll bet/hope there will be an update that fixes this.
