LOL Well, EOC shows me to be 3.7 weeks behind you. If you take out 1/2 your production, it'll certainly be quicker than that.

As a team, we have moved up to position 109. Breaking the 100 mark before summer ends will be tough.

We definitely have slowed down a bit, no biggie, get a WU in when you can.

I just added another processor to my mix, should be good for a couple WU's a week or so.

I don't think it will be a major issue though. Everyone will be having the problem. For some reason they have released a ton of smb work units that are only worth 1275 points and take the same amount of time to process as the usual 1760 point units. I've been getting hit by them all over the place. Of my 5 folding PC's right now, 4 of them are crunching the 1275 point units and 1 is on the 1760 unit. It's killing my production. But at least MOST people running these clients should be in the same mess. Points should be down across the board for all teams.

I exchanged my PS3 tonight. The new one I got is the CECHH01 model. It's design is different than the G01 I had previously. I'm cautiously optimistic that it will be dead quiet when folding like I hear my brothers. I am updating and getting it setup now.

Top 100 looks good to me!

Well, I lost a lot of PC's to new users but I’m starting to build my spare piles up again so I've added 2 more core 2 duo laptops with the 2.5ghz proc back into folding so my points should inch back up again. I’m only 30,000 points away from 2 million now!

I'm really unhappy with folding@home right now. They totally screwed up the smb clients. They used to finish a unit in about 24 hour on my box's and now it seems to take 3 days. I have 6 dual core machines running them and like yesterday I didn't get a single unit in. Ridiculous! 6 dedicated dual core box's and I'm averaging 1900 points. 3 months ago I would be hitting about 9000 a day.

Well, I've been hit or miss lately due to storms and the release of LEGO Indiana Jones (my 7 year old just can't stop playing it! Neither can his Mom!). BUT, thanks to the generosity of WalMart and their $100 gift card offer, I've added another PS3 to the household, so it will be folding as well. Every little bit helps I figure(until my first $500 power bill, LOL!).

Some of you will be sad to learn that I have most of my machines folding again, after completely forgetting to restart them after an extended power outage. Last week's embarrassment of being out of town and having only one Celeron folding (the one in a a data center) will not be repeated.

Those of you who recently passed me: prepare to lose places!

Finally passed the 2 mil mark

Date of last work unit 2008-06-22 14:45:55
Total score 2000305
Overall rank (if points are combined) 989 of 1014040
Active processors (within 50 days) 13
Active processors (within 7 days) 6

=================

But, I'm sad to say that I'm retiring from Folding. I've been doing it over a year now and with the recent changes to smb clients, it's not worth running them any more (aka, typing up 6 dual core computers to only get 1700 points a day).

Good luck all.

Started folding again today, should be a pretty big comeback too. Will see in a couple days.

EDIT: Got the new Nvidia GPU client up and running. Look at these PPD's

The GPU client looks like it is going to provide a huge jump in PPD. I just ordered an 8800GT for my quad to run along with the SMP client. Should be 6-7k PPD. The card was only $139, should have it up and running by the end of the week.

Hey Stngray, why the switch in teams? We could really use that 12kppd. I should have my 8800GT tomorrow, and hopefully a second one soon.

Nothing at all against team AVS, I was just looking for a change. If you have any questions about the GPU client that I might be able to answer, shoot me a PM.

I just installed another 8800GT into my son's computer which should bring my ppd up to around 13k. I believe there is no better bang for the buck as this card was only $69 after rebate from Newegg. It's a Gigabyte 256mb card and they are still available. If you would like to add another 5k ppd to your setup, this is a great way to go. Think about it, 6x the production of a PS3 for 1/6 the price!

you are getting 5k ppd from a 8800GT?
I have a 8600GT OC'd with 512MB and was pulling in about 1500 ppd additional from it but there might be an upgrade in my future!!

I just started up folding this weekend. I have two ps3's, 2 laptops and a desktop folding away. Trying to see how quickly I can climb from the bottom...
