I got through the entire game on Normal. I restarted on Hardened. Doubt I'll ever do Veteran. I'm having a hell of a time on Hardened as it is.

Yeah, from everything I'm hearing, the developer took things a little too far with the difficulty levels in this game. I finished the game on normal, and felt that it provided a good enough challenge and I had a lot of fun. Almost everyone who's played the game on Veteran though, seems to agree that it's too hard to be enjoyable.

AT the risk of being redundant, and not wanting to go through all the bickering bout graphics, and what not. Has anyone addressed an AVS clan issue? Is there an AVS Clan?

I think most of us that play regularly on here are involved with TWW (The Weekend Warriors). In my short experience, it's a great group; very laid back and none of the ridiculous nonsense that ruins a lot of online games for me.

I'm on board with COD4. Just picked it up lastnight. Infinity Ward is out of control, this is could be the best game ever developed as far as graphics and gameplay is concerned. The look and feel is so realistic, I feel sometimes like I am in a combat situation and I just want to hide in the corner. With all the ambient explosions, helicopters, airstrikes, it is very convincing.

I still play COD1 online on my PC, I am in a rifles only tactical clan. So COD4 is much more fast paced but I feel I am getting used to it.

Anyone that wants to get their COD on let me know and I'll add you.

I got in with the TWW guys last night and we had a good time. They are definitely my kind of players. Like Avarice said, none of the nonsense is there. People play the game and use teamwork.

Metafourik - Definitely look into getting in games with TWW. If you ever see me on shoot me an invite. Matzira has the game too I think.

Ya TWW is a good group of guys but theres a lot. In order to feel special I need to be in more of a tightknit small group if Im being competitive. When you're just on to play around they are a blast though. I've actually been switching clan tags from competitive to "playing around" the last few days. Not that anyone else notices, or cares?, but it helps me to identify when I should throw the controller and curse at the TV and when to just let stuff roll off my back.

How do you join matches like TWW? The only join match option I see is the one that throws you randomly into a match...

You need to be invited into the group. Typically TWW members will invite other TWW members into their group, if they seem them online.

FWIW - I just picked up this game last night and I am extrememly impressed at how well crafted this game is. I give major kudos to Infinity Ward for taking the time to optimize this for both platforms instead of doing a lousy port. As far as FPS games go, I have only played Resistance, which is awesome, but it can't compare to the detail that COD4 has. Between this game, GH3, and soon RockBand, my PS3 is getting more action than Wilt the Stilt.....

I got up to Charlie don't surf, and got past several of the checkpoints so far. Stuck on a part now though. It is seriously rough on veteran. Pretty realistic though, you actually die when you get shot.

Anyone having trouble playing online. When ever I boot up COD4, I see this error message saying, "You have been logged out of the Playstation Network (error:80028ED6)" The weird thing is Internet Connection Test >> Passed, I am logged into the PSN as soon as I quit COD4, friends list works, internet works, but when I log into COD4 I get logged out. Really fun game. One of the only games I've finished in a single sitting.
It was a bit short. But any game that can hold me for 8 hrs not stop is good.
I like how your actions change the outcome of a section. The steath section for example if you followed the guy you did very little shoting however if you just used the run and gun method you were in for a fight.

I think I will go back tommorow and attempt hard.

I'm at the ferris wheel portion right now on Veteran and the whole experience has been...frustrating. I started the SP straight on Veteran having played through COD2 on Veteran. The 2 are not really comparable, lol. Get ready to die...a lot.

The damn last mission is pissing me off. The one in the silo. I can make it down the stairs and start my way fighting in the hallway. Then break right and make my way around and go into the other hallway that's blocked off and you have to either go left or right, but that's the ****ing tuff part. I keep dying.

I've never played a game that toes the line so closely between fun and aggravating. I am playing on Hardened and I have no desire to attempt veteran. Getting to most of the checkpoints is not overly difficult, but it seems there is one nearly impossible checkpoint every two levels or so. I really wish the game did not have so many areas that involved fighting infinite waves of enemies. It seems cheap and unnecessary.

Okay I beat the game but how in god's name are you suppose to beat that VIP mission at the end? I go up the stairs and there's like 3 seconds left.

Does anyone have advice for getting for getting to the LZ in 3 minutes at the end of Heat? This part is absolutely destroying me. I've played it for around 1.5 hours and don't seem to be making any consistent progress.

damn finally finished the campaign, on my new Kuro no less. the ending was incredible, and the way to beat the VIP level is to shoot the terrorist at the beginning of those 3 seconds, there's no other opportunity.

Maybe someone already asked this, but is there a reason I lose rank in online play? I ended a play session last night at level 8 or 9, and when I played again today, I was back at level 6. This has happened several times, where I'll be a rank or two below where I was previously. It's getting annoying!

That should not be happening. The ranking is progression (forward) only...

There was an issue where people would not have their stats load from the server and they would show up as a level 1 even though they had leveled up much higher. IF you go play like that (as the level 1) then you'll rewrite you level and stats (per a sticky in the official forums)... If this happens to you... don't play, just back out and re-log in and make sure your full data loads an the correct rank is shown.

In your case of going back one or two levels, I don't know how that's possible... the only thing I can think of is possibly that when you quit out of ranked games before they end, there may be a penalty...

Just as a test, next time before you log off, check your stats, overall score, and time played... then when you log in again, see what happens to all that.

I'm officially apart of the mile high club! Just beat it on veterans. It literally took me at least 100 tries. I was suppose to go out with friends last night at 10:30 but ended up playing till 3:00 am!
