Today PSU.com launched their very own PS3 themes section. For all the PlayStation 3 owners out there, here can be your one central source for the latest PS3 themes.

Currently the design is basic. The themes can be uploaded by the users through this link. Requirements are as follows:

- Must have a title
- Description
- Preview Image

Over the next few days, PSU.com will be adding new additions and upgrades to the PS3 themes section such as "Credit to original author", " ability to add multiple screenshots of theme", and a "rating system". If you want to know how to create your own themes, you can read up on it here.

Here are links to the Themes:

^^Ditto on that...I've got the files that I downloaded on my USB drive but don't know what to do with them. I tried to "Install" from the theme menu, but it said they found no themes.

You need to create a folder on the memory stick called "PS3" with a sub-folder called "THEME" and place them in the sub-folder. Then install them.

Make a folder on your media storage named PS3 , inside of the PS3 folder make another folder named THEME (all uppercase letters) then place the .p3t file in that folder ... insert the media storage into the ps3 and click theme settings , then install theme.

Add me to the thanks-for-the-help list! Very fun stuff. The Christmas Theme by Scottsee has some really nice icons on it. (Including a Charlie Brown Christmas font for your friends' list...Which is my favourite Christmas show to watch every year.)

Which theme is yours Cysquatch? I'm assuming you're not the NoUSeMercenary guy...He's put on about 20+ different themes!

Which theme is yours? PSU.com has added a "Author of Design" to the upload section. The reason NoUseMercenary has so many is that he works for PSU and they launched it yesterday. Had to get some up to start with.

If you have a theme on there that doesnt have your name on it...either re-upload a new one or let me know and I will edit and add your name to the author list.

So the only way you can download them is if you have a USB drive?

If you have a 60gig you could save them to a memory stick/ or CF/MMC card, and transfer them that way. The PS3 browser would choke trying to download stuff off the web. (although I havent tried it with this website)

I used the memory stick from my camera to transfer the theme I downloaded onto my computer to the PS3. Was pretty simple.

Well, that about wraps it up for me. I guess I'll wait if Sony puts something up with a FW update.

I haven't tried any of these, but I kinda like how the standard theme has the animated background that is fairly high rendered. I think it looks good.

Any chance we'll see some rendered background themes in the future? Or are any of them currently animated?

You dont have a USB thumb drive? I got a 2gig one from micro center for 12 bucks. I always thought people were silly for having those things..until I got one. It really comes in handy.

Yes, thanks for the replies...I knew it had to be something simple like that.

They have some pretty decent themes on there, I like that Christmas one too...it even got my wife remotely interested.

I uploaded my theme (Half Life 2 Theme by Cysquatch) but it looks like the PSU folks are the ones actually adding them to the download/preview page.

Here's the PSU link to mine:

You cant be serious...who doesnt have a flash drive or SD card? Seriously man they're like $10. Just wait till black friday and hit up sears/walmart/bestbuy hell even shopko or something and you'll find some for damn near free.

Wow, yours looks really cool, Cysquatch. If it wasn't the holiday season...my wife already wants to put up the Christmas tree......I'd probably use yours. Maybe in the New Year. I'd like to try making my own theme, but it looks pretty complicated.

**Edit
If I could make a request...how about a Charlie Brown Christmas theme? With lots of snow falling in the main picture part...and a spot light in the background for the Christmas tree lot...and Linus and Charlie Brown walking outside...and...
