Hello Everyone,

I'm an avid gamer, with a collection of about 350 games. Most of them display either in 480i (the older ones) or 480p (Xbox, GameCube etc.). I've tried some GameCube and Xbox games on a 32" Sharp Aquos 720p LCD HDTV and they didn't look that great. The screen-door effect in certain games was pretty bad. My question is this: Will 480p games look better on a 1080p LCD set than they do on a 720p set? I'm in the market for a 37" or 42" LCD HDTV and I just can't get any meaningful help from the salespeople at electronics stores. Hope someone can help me with this. Thanks so much. Stefan

generally speaking, no it won't look better on a 1080p tv. You are trying to scale up the 480p signal even more than 720p. Usually Sharp's do okay upscaling. If you weren't happy with it, check out the Sony Bravias, or perhaps a Panasonic or Pioneer Plasma.
