Hi all - I originally posted this in the home theater in a box forum but thought I might try here.

I'm intersted in picking up a home theater in a box system for my 42 inch Sony Bravia. I've done some research online, but I'm still pretty overwhelmed. Here's what I want/need - do you experts have any recommendations, suggestions?

-5 speaker surround sound system with wireless rear speaker - not too sure how that works
-upconvert dvd player (not a necessity, but it woudl be nice)

I want to be able to hook up the following to surround sound:
-xbox 360 (hdmi)
-wii
-time warner hdtv cable (hdmi if possible)
-i may be getting a ps3 in the future, so i'd like to be able to hook that up as well
-i'd also love to be able to play my apple laptop through the system - wirelessly if possible

now - i'm not a huge audiophile. i just want decent surround sound. doesn't need to be top of the line.

i'd like to keep this light on the wallet too - like $400 or so? is that even possible?

thanks all - really appreciate it!

You can try the onkyo SR800 system. It's a great deal for under $400. No DVD player and not rear-wireless but it does have 2 extra speakers for 7.1 audio. It also has a REAL receiver with many inputs...unlike most HTIBs.

I am very happy with the SR800. It is more than enough for me; it really bumps at 50 (volume goes to ~72). Everyday use I have it between 20-30.

I wirelessly stream my laptop to my ps3.

HDMI does not output audio. I am using an optical cable.

Only has 2 HDMI inputs (HDsat, PS3..XBOX?)
