Just got a PS3 for Christmas and I'm wondering if someone could verify my thinking on the set up.

My current set up is with the TV wall mounted on the 1st floor and 2 HDMI cables running through the wall down into the basement where the components are. Everything is ran by a Monster AVL300 remote.

I believe I'll be able to integrate the Monster remote to control the Blu-Ray features of the PS3. I'm a novice with the PS3, but I assume it has wireless remotes I can purchase. Anyone know if the signal is strong enough to go through a floor to control or if RF extenders will need to be used.

PS3 uses a blue tooth signal, no RF/IR. I think it has a 30' range so you should be ok, there's also a ps3 bluetooth remote you can buy. There are a few threads around here for IR to bluetooth adapters if you search, like the ps3toothfairy and the schmartz. I think the biggest issue is to find one that will turn on/off the ps3, but the toothfairy and schmartz offer solutions for this.
