Yes, Pro Logic II is a good surround format if your console/receiver doesn't support Dolby Digital. What console(s) do you have?

Perfect, they should both sound good. The Wii can output a max of Pro Logic II, and it sounds quite good. I can't recall if PS2 outputs DD, but either way, it should sound good as well.

When done right (ie REIV, RB2, most any Nintendo-developed title), DPLII sounds damned fine & surround FX are great on the Wii. Games that use Wiimote's speaker can add another level of audio immersion. You won't get discrete 5.1 audio, but you get something close.
