I too would like to see a good answer to this question. I am still playing my 360/ps3 on a box sdtv and the tv is going out. I have been wanting a good hdtv for gaming for a long time now but have held off since forever out of fear of getting the wrong one and it sucking for my gaming needs,

The question is too open ended. Specify a price range and screen size to get the best help.

Still, I'll post up a list of HDTVs approved by hardcore fighting gamers. A lot of HDTVs have 3+ frames of lag, even in Game Mode, but these all have one frame of lag (16ms) or less. The lower the input lag, the more responsive your games will be:

Quote:

Panasonic TC-L32X1 - 8-9ms input lag 32" 720p

Samsung LE32C530 - 14ms input lag (Any mode) 32" 1080p (U.S model LA32C530)

Samsung LE32C450 - 16ms input lag 32" 720p (U.S model LA32C450)

Panasonic TX-P42C3B - 16ms input lag 42" 1024×768

Panasonic TX-P42ST30B - 16ms input lag 42" 1080p (U.S model TC-P42ST30)

Panasonic TX-P50S20B - 16ms input lag (Game picture mode) 50" 1080p

Panasonic TX-P42GT20 - 16ms input lag (2D to 3D conversion mode only) 42" 1080p

Panasonic TX-P42VT20B - 16ms input lag (2D to 3D conversion mode only) 42" 1080p

Panasonic TX-P46VT20B - 16ms input lag (2D to 3D conversion mode only) 46" 1080p

LG 32LD450 - 16ms input lag (Game picture mode) 32" 1080p

I see you have a TC-L32X1 listed in your chart with impressive results. How does Panasonic's newer TC-L32X30 (also 720P) compare with that older model as far as input lag is concerned? This is assuming all of the subsequent "X" models were made with the same mentality.

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. Different models can vary from size to size, let alone model to model from the same company. I can't find any info for you on that set, so you may have to be the gaming guinea pig for the world?

The best suggestion I can give is research to see if the panel inside the model you want is the same panel inside the HDTV from that same company you know has low input lag. It would then be safer to consider that they both have similar input lag numbers before testing it to be sure.

How about the newer sammys? Looking at the u55d8000 line.

Is the lag pretty bad?
