Hello All,

I'm about to pull the trigger on one of the new consoles this month as I need a Blu-Ray player for the home theater and there's no point in double dipping on hardware since I'd also like one of the new gaming consoles.

From what I've read though, the consoles do not support 1080i output. Bit of a problem for me, as my old Toshiba DLP's highest resolution is 1080i.

Since my console would be connected thru my Onkyo receiver, is it possible to have the system output in 1080p, and then have the receiver automatically futz with the output to have it streamed to the TV in 1080i?

I'm really in no rush to upgrade my TV until the 4K standard is finalized and comes down in price for larger format screens.

Thanks in advance.

Reciever is an Onkyo TX SR-705 and TV is a Toshiba DLP 62HM85.

You could certainly run it through your receiver to change the resolution; or you could just set the console to output 720p, which is the native resolution of your TV.
