Upscaling PS2 Games

I looked into scalers that would do a good job with PS2 games for my HDTV.
The XRGB-Mini seems to be what I'm looking for but that is a steep price at close to $400.
I do have quite a backlog of PS2 games though so I am considering it.
Any of you guys use the XRGB-Mini?
Would love to get some input & thoughts on this idea.

HELL NO. $400 for that is INSANE. That's the price of a PS4.

If you want TRUE upscaling and not simple smoothing, download PCSX2. As long as you own the original copy, emulating it on your PC is 100% legal. You can render games natively in 1080p, upscale textures, add sharpening filters, etc.

Just to see how great this software is, compare the Final Fantasy X/X-2 remake (HD version really) with an upscaled PCSX2 version:

And then compare it to a native PS2 copy and be blown away.

Quick note. Before anyone starts an uproar for the use of emulators, understand that it's 100% legal as long as you own the original game. It's no different from ripping a dvd and then playing back the remuxed version through MadVR and upscaling it.
