I am considering picking up some component cables for my PS2, however I have been reading many posts saying that they do more harm then good, especially with the cutscenes in final fantasy XII.

I am afrfaid to getthem now to use with my new olevia 232V. I have S-video now, and with that it dosnt appear to lag, guitar hero is great on it.

Is it worth upgrading to component?
Will there be alot of problems?

I don't think it's really worth it for the PS2. The only game I might say would make it worthwhile would be the last Grand Tourismo, which had HD capability. For the other stuff, I say don't waste your money on cables - buy a game or two instead.

You can try bringing your PS2 to a store (Fry's, for instance) and ask them if you can try their component cables on a TV in their store.

Or buy the component cables, test them somewhere, and return it if you don't like your purchase.
