I am currently using a Panasonic AE900 projector in my home theatre. The room is a dedicated HT room that can be completely light controlled and the projector is setup with a throw distance of 4m and a screen size of 100". Just recently I've become more involved with gaming online with my PS3 and currently the projector is used about 60-70% of the time for this with the other 30-40% being movies and HDTV (sports).
The AE900 seems to do a pretty good job of everything at the moment but sometimes I'm concerned about some minor lag when gaming. I'm not sure whether this is due to the 10m HDMI cable connecting the PS3 to the PJ or the 10m ethernet cable running from my router to the PS3 or just my 1500/256 ADSL internet connection. I would also like to take full advantage of the BluRay capabilities of the PS3 and invest in a 1080p projector.
I've rad about the Panasonic AX200U that has a "gaming mode" that is suppose to have a better response time for gaming but I'm just not sure if this is all hype or would really make a difference? It's also still a 720p projector and from the reviews I've read only does an average job on HD movies.
Does anyone know if there is a reasonably priced 1080p projector that offers similar functions as the AX200U "gaming mode" and would be suitable for my HT.
