Amazon's doing a "15 Days, 15 Great Video Game Deals" thing. First up: Guitar Hero World Tour: Guitar Bundle. $70 for the Wii version. While this is a pretty good deal, I frankly think Wii owners should abstain purely on principle, as the PS3/360 versions are $60. What the hell, Amazon?

...still, this was enough to convince me that my bass guitar on my PS3 Rock Band 2 setup should be a GHWT guitar. Especially since I picked up an open-box RB1 Strat last night at J&R and found it has an apparently broken tilt sensor. (Easily refundable, at least...)

I see Okami at 37.99
But RE4 - 19.99

man, NMH and RE4 is tempting for $35... and I did just get a $20 rebate check last night...

A lot of hypochronic's Amazon list were limited-time dealies for Black Friday/Cyber Monday, I believe. But just get friggin' NMH already. $15 is a ridiculous deal.

Agreed. NMH & REIV for less than a single new release? Yeah...if you don't have either game now, jump on this deal! You won't regret it.

Coincidentally, we got the DS edition (Wild World) as a XMAS gift for our niece.

Did see in this weekend's Circuit City ad that they are selling the RB Special Ed set for $89.99 this week.

currently unavailable. that didn't last long at all.

Was it just the game disc or did it include the mic? My guess would be game only at that price.

Game only, yeah. I believe the mic bundle is $50, which is still a good price. Probably sold out as well though?

Overstock is having a 4-day video game sale. Wii stuff: Wario Land Shake It and Mario Super Sluggers both $25. Sonic Riders is $13. They had Lego Batman, but it's already sold out.

For anyone with a DS, Kirby Super Star is a port of an awesome SNES game. I haven't seen it below retail anywhere, but this sale has it at $17...I'll definitely be picking that up myself.

Does anyone think super sluggers is worth the $25? How similar is it to wii sports mechanics? I love wii spoorts mechanics and for mlb 2k8 I love the stats and real players, rules, and stadiums but hate the mechanics.

Just scored Guitar Hero 3 bundle for $47.99 and an extra Les Paul guitar for $19.99. They also had Guitar Hero Aerosmith for $47.99 at Circuit City. I think the deal goes through tomorrow.

I'm resurrecting the Wii Deals Thread. Today only at Amazon:Animal Crossing: City Folk for $30

Also, GameStop is running another B2G1 sale on used games and accessories until 3/15. A good opportunity to maybe pick up some games you've been waiting for a price drop on, like Deadly Creatures or House of the Dead. Or you never know what crazy hardcore nerds have beaten and sold MadWorld already.

Lastly, Toys R Us is running a "Buy 1, Get $20 off a second game priced $39.99 or more" promotion from 3/15 to 3/21. Not the best deal, but not bad if you've been eyeing a couple new games.

Would AC be a good choice for a rather bright 6 yr old? MY daughter asks about it a lot, mainly 'cause we had got her cousin the AC game for DS as a b-day gift recently.

Hm, I haven't been around a six-year-old since I was six myself, so I can't say for sure. But if I had to guess I'd say kids would have to be at least 8 to enjoy AC by themselves. It's a simple game, but it does involve a lot of item-screen manipulation, the controls can be a bit finicky, and there is a LOT of text to read. That said, I'm sure she'd have fun so long as you're there to occasionally help her select a tool or explain why the creepy raccoon keeps asking her about a "mortgage."

I have heard the game is great if multiple members of a family are playing, though. You can have as many as four people living in the same town, and you're all working together to plant trees and flowers, donate funds to get monuments built, and fill out the museum with bugs, fish, fossils and art. The best part is the animal villagers will sometimes talk to you about other players, ask you to deliver messages to other players in real life, or sometimes show you letters other players wrote to them. Animals will also speak to you using words or phrases taught to them by other players, or wear designs players have put up for display at the tailor's shop. It's pretty amusing with just me and my girlfriend in the same town, so I imagine it'd be even more fun if you could get your whole family in on it.

Amazon has Geometry Wars Galaxies for $10 right now, and Wario Land Shake It for $28. Geometry Wars seems like a steal at that price, whereas $28 is about what Wario Land should've cost in the first place, in my view.

wario land is an awful awful game.

Even the presentation blows. Yea, lets put giant bars down the sides so the 16x9 displays are only getting 4x3 game experience. Fantastic idea morons.

My son got it for X-mas and I think he's played it like 2 times since then.

When I was in GS this weekend grabbing an RB guitar, they had Wario Land on the in store demo Wii. Employees were laughing at a particular sound effect in the game that they found apparently sexual in nature.

Well, it's been so long you could probably honk a horn and I could mistake it for the same type of content.

I've heard mixed reviews about Shakt It, but it didn't seem like it would appeal to me. And Geometry Wars, from what I can tell, is just a newer version of Asteroids from the old Atari. I'm not sure I can justify that for $10.

I wonder if Shake it, as it exists, would have been better received if it had been a $10 WiiWare title.

From what I had heard, it's a fairly solid 2D platformer with very nice looks. It does sound as if it's pseudo-16x9 image & the relative shortness of the game are the major strikes against it.

Used for $10-15? I might get that.

Not a direct link to Amazon - but I think that site is easy enough to find...

Today (3/16/09) only - Guitar Hero World Tour complete band packs for 360/PS3/Wii are selling for $119.99 only. PS2 version is $109.99.

I think Shake It would've been better received if it was released around 1996. 2D hand-drawn platformers are a tough sell nowadays. The saddest part is that even if Wario Land was amazing, I doubt it would've pulled much better sales numbers than it did. And WiiWare isn't really an option for this game, since all that animation takes up a LOT of space.

For the record, I don't find it to necessarily be a bad game, just kinda generic and uninspired. I find no issue with the length since platformers aren't really supposed to be 20-30-hour affairs. Anyway, for $28 it's not a bad buy if you're into the genre, but know that it's meant to be more of a slower-paced exploratory game than a fast-paced hop 'n' bopper.

My little brother was able to play and enjoy Animal Crossing for the DS when he was 4; although, we don't let him play it often as he has a tendency to cut down all the trees in the town. Anyways, a 6 year-old should be able to enjoy it just fine.
