Bang-for-your-buck, it's a good deal with lots of story, skirmish and multiplayer missions.
Did you have Wi-Fi off or not connected while playing GR by any chance?

I have played it with wifi connected and without (depending on my location). I play about two 45 minute sessions on the train each day and then sometimes (like last night) I play while on AC power at home. Last night I played ('cuz I wanted to finish a mission) for abou 1.5 hours at home, no wifi.

I have never expressly turned off the wifi.

Maybe mine is defective then, turning off wifi (only while playing GR) seemed to be working.

Have you contacted Nintendo about it? Might be a problem unit or it might be something that will get fixed during the may update. Don't know. But I've played at least 10 hours of GR this week, usually in 30-45 minute bursts, and I've never had a crash. Same to a lesser degree for SF. And in some cases I start the games in wifi and leave it or the reverse.

I know that black screens have been reported by other folks, so I'd put in a call, if it were me.

Surprisingly I've had no issues with GR. However I have experienced the black screen three times during first week while playing street fighter online. It hasn't occurred at all this week. Maybe a router issue of some sorts? I use an airport extreme.

I guess I'll have to, I was hoping to avoid sending it in after such a short time.

I'm convinced it's related to the wireless somehow. I tried just leaving it on a GR mission once with wireless on and it crashed after a little bit, then once with it off and it ran fine till the battery ran out. Strange stuff.

Sony's Jack Tretton thinks all you 3DS folks are a bunch of little children.

Ok, fine... step up Mr. Tretton, and bring the awesome.

I'm still enjoying my 3DS, btw... play it almost every day.

Sony has quite of bit of awesome to bring.

http://news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-20052749-17.html

While every online gaming geeks fave/most hated business analyst, Michael Patcher, rarely seems to nail the future in many of his predictions ("dump Netflix, invest in Blockbuster" he stated not all that long ago), the pride of Wedbush states that the 3DS sold 500,000 units in the US in March.

Number is even more impressive considering that the 3DS was released in NA with just 4 days left in March. a half million $250 handhelds in 4 days - methinks Mario is getting a new pool deck made of solid gold.

Official NPD numbers due in a few days. Get ready for Reggie to gloat....and Sony to keep calling Nintendo fans little kids (an angle they have seemingly taken towards Ninty for a while).

Ugh, I haven't heard a soundbite from Tretton in a while so I forgot what a classless dickbag blowhard that guy is. Why would you let someone publicly dismiss motion gaming as "cute" when your own system now has a motion controller? Every console manufacturer is trying to expand the market and they still let this guy perpetuate the junior-high "anti-kiddie" mentality. Sony execs are the worst. There's also the Sony Euro guy who said Sony also thought of putting 3D tech in the NGP, but decided that 3D is stupid unless it's "in the home, around the television, and where it's a shared experience." Uh...okay. Or you could just talk up the dozen technological advantages NGP boasts over the 3DS instead of engaging in the most transparent marketing doublespeak ever.

Every time I hear a Sony exec talk it makes me wish I didn't own a PS3.

Re NGP: This shirt says it all for me:

Nintendo owns the handheld console market (cell phones notwithstanding), and is also the runaway leader in the current console generation. Not even close. Must be doing something right, no?

Nintendo, to me, has the best ideas, and takes risks, and it's paying off. First handheld with a touch screen. Dual screen idea on DS. Innovative clamshell design, self-protecting the screens. First to motion gaming. First to 3D gaming, using an innovative glasses-free design. They are the gaming leader in innovation.

At this point, I think Nintendo is far more concerned w/ Apple in the handheld market than Sony.

Good question - maybe to miss the usual glut of new releases that is known as Tuesday?

Speak for yourself, man. I LOVE when stuff drops on a Sunday. Easier for me to run out and get.

Pachter is right only 60% of the time...but that makes him one of the most reliable analysts in the business. Across most markets, really.

Tretton has been trying the "Nintendo is for BAY-BEEES!" mantra for about 5 years now...and it ain't working. The PSP sold well, but it only the DS has sold more than twice as many. Ninty is watching Apple as their enemy, not Sony. Basing a marketing strategy on calling 20-something males immature if they don't buy their product? Not really a winning hand. I know four people who bought PSPs....I'm unaware of any of them still using them. Smartphones have supplanted their most attractive features...a fact Ninty is all-to-aware of. So they moved the goal-posts to a place smartphones aren't at.

Frankly, I'm kind of stunned that the 3DS has done this well.
And today we found out that SS IV-3D has become the 3DS's first MILLION SELLER.

Let's put it this way: The DS has sold at least 114 games that have become million sellers and has sold roughtly 817+ million games. The PSP has...well, a lot less than that. (not sure on the million sellers, though you drop to 1 million before getting out of the top 10, but in toto it's about 251+ million games).

If you haven't seen the screenshots, the new 3D version of Zelda is a less a port, more of a complete re-haul. Same game, but almost a next-gen version.

Also, Starfox 3D has a July 14 release date for Japan - hope we get that one soon too!

More 3DS Zelda news - Master Quest included (same OOT game re-mixed with different paths and enemies), Boss mode (fight the boss stages, one after another), and optional videos offer a clue if you get stuck.

This game is going to sell a lot of 3DSes.

I wonder why they tinkered around with Link's face for?

Not much of a problem since you hardly ever get to see it, but he's very different looking from the N64 game now. I don't really care for his new look, although everything else I've seen is shaping up nicely.

Really? I've had about 10 since launch, with three of those people one's I've met several times. I've met at least two on my daily regional train commute.

Only one of them had Super Street Fighter IV, though. AND I WON!

Switch there's a marketplace area for paying members.

I also parted with mine. After the initial fun I think I've truly outgrown nintendo products.

I'm getting a little bored of mine at the moment as well, but I'm hoping that when some new games and the update come out this summer, that'll help.
