I have a receiver unit managing my cable/dvr box, bluray player and wii. Connection to Samsung LCD is over a very high end interior wall rated 25ft hdmi cable that is run through the wall. The picture quality when viewing tv/cable and bluray is flawless..looks great. Problem arises when I switch receiver to wii mode. I get little white sparkles on the screen and occasionally a white, noisy flash. I can't imagine its the hdmi cable since the picture quality is perfect with tv and bluray. What could cause this? I've tried moving cables around, unplugging things, etc.

Have you confirmed that the system is operating properly by directing connecting it to a television to confirm that the system and your component (I assume) cables are working correctly?

I've heard of black sparkles which signifies that a component (The GPU?) has been damaged by heat. Never heard of white sparkles or flashes due to system damage, but it's a good first step to take to verify the system is in good working order to start isolating the problem.

I imagine the problem is likely with your reciever (Might not hurt to post the model, someone might have first hand experience with it here that could assist you). Can't you just run component cables directly to your television and avoid having your reciever have to mess with a low resolution and having to output it via HDMI (Sounds like everything else you send through it is probably already via HDMI and in HD)? Might be the only way if it just doesn't want to cooperate with your Wii.
