I have yet to buy the 3DS, but Zelda is my favorite video game series, so I decided to purchase it in order to motivate me to buy the system. Also, Nintendo had the bonus promo on Club Nintendo, which allowed you to register the game to receive the OST CD w/ artwork.

I loved the original on the N64 and had a great time playing that game (except the Water Temple).

What's your feeling about the game being re-released?

Instant buy for me, even though I've owned the game on 3 separate systems now, LOL. I have not had much time to play it yet, but it does look great so far. I'd like to see them do this with the original Mario 64 as well. That is still one of my all time favorite 3D platformers.

I bought it, along with a 3DS. It's excellent.

I'll probably pick it up eventually (along with a 3DS), but I'm not quite as in love with Oot as most. Am I the only one who finds the game a complete chore until you become Adult Link? Child Link's dungeons aren't very engaging.

I ordered OoT+3DS -- due next week. I'm wondering whether I can adapt to the tiny little screen (never had a handheld console before). I played through OoT several times on the N64, so it'll be an exercise in nostalgia, for me.

If I had a 3DS, I would definitely buy it. I really, really want to play it but I can't justify buying a 3DS to play one game.

Bought it and even got one of the two custom 3DS cases to go with it. I had it on the gamecube, but never actually finished it. The 3DS version is dandy. The ugpraded graphics are nice (I heard one person describe it as looking like his rose-colored memories, as opposed to the 64's blocky reality).

3D aiming and looking-around are kind of fun, though it's good they maintained the original style. 3D is impressive in some points, unnecessary in others. The outside of the Temple of Time, for example, looks pretty nice in 3D. Aiming in 3D doesn't always work that well, due to the narrow viewing zone that 3D requires.

All told, it's a top-notch translation and well worth the money. Arguable the 3DS' console seller...especially to kids too young to have played the original.

The one thing about these old-school games that always gets me are the secrets. I've gotten about 10 heart pieces so far but then I look online and see there's like 20 available to me! And forget about the skulltulas... I have like 15 but I could have had like 35.

I just got to adult Link with the hookshot.

I got it, and love it. Surprised how much I remember, only to get stuck again on something that had me stuck...13 years ago?

Thankfully, we now have the internetz to help during those "what was it that I did here?" moments. Also, there's a nice little built-in video flash-back reminder to put us on the right course.

A masterpiece.

Sub-1080p/60fps is not next-gen.

I got it, even though i had it on wii virtual console and i got a used n64 with it at a yard sale before, i never seriously sat down and played it, and even though i'm currently into the zelda on the 3ds virtual console (been forever since i played it!) it was definitely worth it

I got it, and I'm playing it more than most 3DS titles, but I still am not as into it as I had thought I would be. I guess having beaten it a handful of times before takes something away.

It's still a great game, but it's not something I can't easily put down/away for a while.

This was really worth the game and the 3DS? I may have to get both.

One game down, but I still need a few more games to justify a new handheld, especially at that price point. (I miss the days when a new handheld was under $100 at launch)

I did pick up a 3DS close to launch, but was overall unimpressed with the system, it felt like it needed a hardware redesign. (my unit kept leaving a residue on the 3D screen from the lower screen's border) The battery life also annoyed me, way too short for a Nintendo handheld. I also didn't think the 3D added anything valuable to the experience, seemed like the system would have been better served without it and at a lower price point.

Probably not, unless you really like Zelda. There's not a whole lot else on the platform right now. I got it because, honestly, there's pretty much no way that stuff like Super Mario 3D and Mario Kart are going turn out bad.

I'd really like to see Metroid in 3D...

Too many systems and games....not enough time or money!

I am now further in the game that I had been on my previous playthrough. Because of this, I am loving it. While it is easily the best thing on the 3DS, it would be a lie to say that it's the only thing I think is good on it. I played the living hell out of Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars.

And I'm not ashamed to admit that I kind of love the Pokedex. It's like a daily little present.

What is this? I'm not sure what to do with the Pokedex.

So I got my copy a week or so ago and while I love it, it's a great game, and the 3D effect can look awesome, I do see a significant amount of ghosting that I haven't noticed in any of the other 3D games that I've played (3D Excitebike, Pilotwings, SSFIV, Ghost Recon, Steel Diver).

It's not enough to make me not play in 3D, but it is slightly annoying.

The only other annoying thing for me is that the Ocarina songs are different buttons now. But that's even less of an issue since you don't have to remember them.

You don't really 'do' anything with it, per se. Once or twice a day, the 3DS downloads or unlocks a new Pokemon into the Pokedex. You can also scan stickers to get new ones or trade with other people. It has very detailed information on each Pokemon you get, as well as a nice graphic and animation. It's more of a toy than a game, but I think it's pretty spiffy. Especially since I don't know most of the Pokemon in the current Pokedex (from White/Black).

Sometimes the effect is really nice. Occasionally I turn it off when I end up turning the 3DS during a battle or platforming so much that I see ghosting. You didn't have to remember songs previously, at least not in the GC version: it listed them there, too. I assumed this originated in the N64 version.

I meant more that the ones I remember aren't the same buttons anymore.

In the N64 version, as far as I can remember, you could look them up but you had to go to a separate submenu, look at it for a few seconds, and then go back to the game and do it by recall. In this, you have the option of showing them on the bottom screen, while you're actually playing them on the top.

Poppycock. Z:OoT is 10+ years old. It benefits from the improvements in hardware and multiple screens. Frankly, I wish they'd fixed Navi. Yes, I know the next temple is in the desert....BECAUSE I'M STANDING THERE RIGHT NOW. ARGH.

So I like it because Zelda games are too easy nowadays, but wow, the Master Quest version on this cart is HARD. I only tried a little bit earlier, but I died 3 times in the Deku Tree.
