Hmmm...they're usually more like 90 min, and never start on time...

Gametrailers is usually reliable for streaming.

The metroid x star fox sounds like a great way to kill two franchises. Maybe they were talking about incorporating elements of each into a game and someone turned it into that craziness of a rumor.

Maybe with the tv deal it will be more streamlined? Or spike will just run over.

Nintendo also offers it at their site here.

Nintendo will also be streaming a "Developer discussion with Wii U hardware producer Katsuya Eguchi " at 11:30 PDT on Tuesday and a "Software Showcase" Wednesday, June 6 at 6 pm PDT.

What nintendo did last year and I think the year before was really cool - they directly followed their conference stream with one on one interviews...sounds like they might have a lot more planned than just the conference.

Their stream was really meh quality though.

I'd love that. Probably even consider a buy with those specs... But C'mon, no way THAT is what Nintendo has been up to since last year's reveal. Remember this is a team that 1( posted their first loss this past year 2( shamefully dropped $80 off their last handheld just to stop the bleeding and probably now only moderately profit on hardware and 3( have publicly been uncommitted to specs wars since he reveal.

So I do/don't buy:

DON'T -Unreal Engine 4. Nuh huh, no way, high end PC's won't run it yet, dude.
DO - $349 price point. At just above PS360 horsepower tho.
DON'T - 560 mb sys ram is what, 496mb more than 360?
DO - 2gb RAM. That's an ARM processor level. Nintenphone 4G confirmed.

DO MORE - 2gb internal memory. 1ghz processor. Angry Birds:Mushroom Kingdom launch title, play on 6.5" touch screen while you sob with buyers remorse and fall into a Cheetos coma.

2gb of RAM is fine, especially if the system ram is seperate and dedicated. The GPU is a bit powerful, but is actually possible. UE4 will run on that GPU. I can easily see this being true. They dont want another Wii situation where they end up being underpowered and sales fall flat during the final stretch.

The 3ds costs $104 to make, and sells for $170 any losses are to cut retailers a deal and encourage a good relationship. (last I heard they sell it to retailers for half it's sale price) this was a year ago so it has probably changed since then.

"2gb of RAM is fine, especially if the system ram is seperate and dedicated."

Both the original Xbox and the 360 have proven that unified memory is absolutely the correct choice for a modern console. Separate memory pools is a very 90's way of console design and makes everything far more difficult for developers. For absolute performance? Yes, separate pools is great. For shipping a game on time and on budget so that the studio gets to live another cycle and make another game? Unified is the way to go.

One would be hard pressed to say that the three first-party PS3 games that look better than any 360 game is worth the tradeoff of the first three years of terribly performing and terribly late ports that PS3 owners suffered through.

Having the system ram seperate from the main pool means that it doesnt eat into games (like it does on the ps3 and 360) but it raises costs and makes 4gb more cost effective. But if the Wii U OS really is a half gig footprint...

"Having the system ram seperate from the main pool means that it doesnt eat into games (like it does on the ps3 and 360)"

The amount of system ram spent on the 360 dashboard during gameplay is minimal. If memory serves, we're talking 35MB. The PS3's handling of OS memory use is just another example of just how poorly that system was designed. Eating 70MB out of your 256MB allotment? Pff! In any case, having yet another pool dedicated to some other function does nothing but drive up costs and reduce developer friendliness. Neither of these is a desirable outcome.

The correct choice is exactly as the 360 does. Reserve X MB from day one for system use. Let the devs use the rest for whatever they want.

That's old. It came from some guy on an italian site saying they were a ubisoft milan employee. I'm not sure why it's making all these sites now. Pretty sure it's fake.

I'm thinking the memory was set aside on dev kits. Someone else said 512 mb. What will be allotted out of the 1.5-2 gb? for games on the final release I don't think we know.

Rumors were the latest/final dev kits were late getting out due to Nintendo working to optimize the console for the UE4 engine, but I have no idea if that was true. It was probably somebody wishing.

If only naughty dog could license out it's uncharted engine so other developers could pump out games that look as good as uncharted 2/3 and the upcoming Last of Us!

They seem to have found the secret recipe for ps3. Seriously, I could deal with no new consoles for a couple more years if games looked as good as uncharted 3...

My ps3 died so I haven't been able to play 3. Uncharted 2 was gorgeous though. I really liked the first 2.

Retro did hire a former naughty dog staffer (environment artist) who worked on uncharted.

Uncharted 3 was pretty, but it was nowhere near as good as #2. It also ripped off the final area from #2 almost to the letter. And the supernatural twist was stupid. (not spoiling it)

The plot felt like an excuse to move from one epic setpiece to the next with no real reason as to why you are there in most cases.

I'd take it a step further and simply say that Uncharted 3 was surprisingly bad. It shows that this was the work of Naughty Dog's B-team (their A-team was busy working on The Last of Us). The second half of UC3 was passable, but the first half was just one bit of bad game design after another.

The story and visual tech was still top notch, of course.

I thought Uncharted 1 was tedious but a good try for an early console release. Surprisingly I thought Uncharted 2 was downright amazing, perfectly minimizing and masking the series' flaws. But Uncharted 3 was one of the least satisfying, most frustrating games I've played in recent memory. The story was limp, the setpieces didn't measure up to those in UC2 (aside from the scenes at sea), and the already not-amazing gameplay was made worse in just about every way. It's funny how up-and-down on the series I was, especially since the games aren't that different from each other on the surface.

Going to have to go ahead and disagree with all of you!

Thought uncharted 3 was undoubtably the best yet and while I would stop short of calling it a classic it is one of the best games on ps3. Action/platforming has never been a problem for the uncharted series but they desperately need to make this franchise smarter. To be clear, U3 is NOT smart but compared to it's predecessors it's like going from Sahara to Indiana Jones! Lol! At least U3 ATTEMPTED to add some puzzle solving and I thought the refrain they showed near the end concerning the mystical stuff was a welcome reprieve from the prior entries. The 'boss' fight alone makes U3 instantly better than the rest... Especially 2-- the ending of U2 almost ruined the entire game for me! Seriously, as good as the endgame is in U2 the last boss is the most frustratingly dumb fight in any video game anywhere.

Also, Nathan was far less of a douche in this one than the first two! Lol!

Getting back on topic the prospect of using the Wii U controller as your motion sensor in Colonial Marines is such a no-brainer gimmick (and one that the developer was obviously hinting at) but at the same time it's the little things like that that can give a game a more immersive quality!

I'm getting more excited about the Wii U everyday and this is coming from someone who has NEVER purchased a game system on release- heck, I've never bought a game system in it's first couple years on the market!

As long as they keep up the promise of releases looking better on Wii U I'll be in line to buy! Right now they're promising higher resolution HD games and better frame rates all with an innovative (and yet familiar) controller with nintendo's built in first party support... That's enough to sell me.

Give me 720p 60fps with quality AA and I will be content. I'm tired of games looking so rough on current systems because they want to push higher quality enviroments at the expense of everything else. 1080p is less important than a solid framerate in my book.

Wii U is promising 1080p and 60fps for many of the simultaneous multi-platform releases! Same game -- better graphics. And I don't know of any current AAA titles that are pushing 1080p... Downloadable arcade-type titles, sure, but no major releases!

Ugh-- didn't Ubisoft say that both the new Raman and Assassins Creed 3 would be running at 1080p and 60fps?? I know I didn't pull that out of my ass but maybe I misinterpreted speculation as quote??

Edit-- strike that! I found the article and it IS rumor. Pardon me, I do most of my surfing on a 3" screen and I thought that was a confirm! Lol! Well, here's hoping they DO manage that!

It was proven to be fake, a 15 year old Italian kid posed as a ubisoft employee and had fun with it.
