Hello, I've got a Wii connected to a surround system which features dpl2 processing, however when I play games with lots of ambience like Zelda the surrounds seem most of the times mute, Is there any way to make the surround effects more obvious?

Are you activating ProLogic 2 or ProLogic2x on your receiver? Just because the game supports it doesn't mean that the receiver will automatically provide surround. If that's not it, then you may need to adjust your expectations. These games are mixed in stereo, so they will never encircle you with sound like a Bluray or PS3 and Xbox games which have discrete 5.1 sound.

No. Stop presenting misinformation as fact.

Those posts repeat what I said, that you have to activate Prologic on the receiver side. Yes, Prologic simulates surround, but even with it activated, Zelda will never sound like Call of Duty! Nintendo games ARE mixed in stereo, which is why you will get two channels if you leave your receiver on direct mode.

Yeah, that's exactly what the other posts say. Except of course, they don't at all, and you obviously didn't actually read them.

Wii games designed for PL II are mixed in surround and are output in an encoded surround format. Period. Full stop. End of debate. You can not argue against that, and even attempting to shows a lack of education on the subject at hand more than anything else.

Again, stop presenting misinformation and bad advice as fact.

How about instead of sticking to your incorrect and broken viewpoint, read the other thread that I linked to and learn something today?

Wow, I learned something! I knew that PLII "somehow" created surround sound with stereo audio, but I never took the time to look up how. Now I know!
