Oh yeah, as the articles states, I'm one who's gaming on my iPhone and iPad every single day, multiple times a day.

Nintendo has a lot of morons in their company is the problem. Who in the world releases a console year before competitors with almost no reason to get it? Even by 1 and 1/2 YEARS into the wii u, the only game I willc are much about is Mario kart and even that one they probably messed up with the annoying gimmick instead of just plain simple racing in go karts. And what else can you say about people who insisted for years that HD isn't important and that online is unimportant and all the other crazy things they've said. And who knows when we'll get another Zelda. At this rate, maybe never.

The next Zelda has been confirmed to be at E3 in 2014, we may see it in a Direct before then. I am still waiting on more X info, Monolith's next game was my entire reason for getting a launch Wii U. Mistwalker also needs to show their game soon, if they have one.

Last I heard all they confirmed is that they would give details about it then. And my point is the wii u may die out where they decide to scrap all current projects at some point. I doubt it, but seriously as big of a Nintendo fan as I am, for even me to not be playing wii u games tells how bad it is. Although, then again, I may not be the best one to judge by, since I only play Zelda, Mario kart, sports, and music games.

I've seen much worse on other forums. The big problem is that sales are so low and the biggest system sellers are coming in 2014 (Smash and Kart) Nintendo put too much of their dev power behind the 3DS, and it shows, so many amazing titles the past few years...

Most people talking doom are sony and Microsoft fanboys, though. tongue.gif I was never one, for example, to claim the gamecube or wii (before its release) would doom the company. This wii u situation feels flat pathetic. Third parties not giving a crap about even supporting it, for one thing. that was already horrible enough for the original wii. That idiot 2k sports company kept pumping out utter CRAP baseball games for wii. GThey would add all these new features for the other console versions then release total BS almost EXACTLY like the previous year's game for wii. Luckily I caught on without ever buying more than one off the series, but was always disappointed that we NEVER got a SINGLE good baseball game for wii.

They need to get the Wii to $99 and cram store shelves with $20 Wii rereleases and offer some attractive discounts on a still rather expensive Wii U for this Christmas.

I wouldn't complain about a player's choice line of Prime Trilogy and Xenoblade. Both would sell very well on hype alone.

$99 Wii may not be enough, it was that price for Black Friday two years ago and it barely sold.

Even last year the Wii pulled in solid numbers. It handily outsold the Wii U last Christmas which was enjoying a respectable launch before the roof fell in later that winter. Wii sales are in the decline and poor for most of the year these days but it's still a good Christmas seller which is historically where it typically has done the vast majority of its trade (Much more so than the competition).

Make it $99, toss in a desirable pack-in like Mario Kart Wii, and rerelease a ton of 1st party content and get selected 3rd party releases out there at $20 while dropping the existing Nintendo Selects lineup from 2011 that remains widely available to $9.99 and I think it could help bolster their ailing finances and actually increase Wii sales from the year before (Another quarterly loss just was announced).

Wii fit is tough. The new games are actually fun, too.

It's so hard for me to stay interested in any sort of long game other than Zelda games for some reason. I need to play those MP games though because I know they're rated great. I trie3d playing the original Mario galaxy game and immediately got tired of it before even accomplishing anything. lol I am so obsessed with perfection of Zelda games that nothing else holds my attention.

I'll download it this week when I get home. Hope my abs are ready for it.

I ordered the Wii Fit meter, and it should be waiting at home when I get there.

Just got my Mario and Luigi Wii U Bundle today. :-)

Not got to wait till x-mas to really play with it. When I have time between then when no one is home I was going to get it updated, and install a video game or two.

Not sure about my wife, but I do know that my 4yr old and I will be extremely happy to pop it open.

Tennis is pretty good. I experienced a touch of lag, but the overall presentation is great. Bowling feels less competitive, but I'm also terrible at bowling. I'm also curious how they'll implement baseball, considering the turn-based approach to bowling. Trying it for free is a great perk. I hope they'll do that with other titles.

Anyone else running out of space on their home screen?

I also got a club nintendo survey all about multiplayer and online functionality, so maybe Nintendo is finally turning this corner.

I am and I really hate the tiles. I keep trying to have some sort of order/theme to each page but I find this way of sorting annoying...

Ouch. Cnet puts the Wii U at the same level as DVD players: it made the top 5 "Tech Gifts To Avoid" list.

The other systems are fine, they just don't have any games I want to play.

maybe Nintendo isn't paying CBS enough ad money
somelogin's Avatar somelogin 05:27 PM 11-12-2013
Well, nobody's fault but Nintendo's own. They obviously didn't learn from the horrible third party support for the original wii or the fact that specs matter. All they ahd to do is use closer specs to the other upcoming consoles, such as a better processor, charge maybe $50 more than the original price and all would be fine. Plus the tablet still seems to be gimmicky to me, but I haven't played a wii u game on my wii u, still, 1 year in.
Leo_Ames's Avatar Leo_Ames 06:42 PM 11-12-2013
They tried going head to head after the Nintendo 64 lost them so much ground and allowed a newcomer to dominate. It was called the GameCube and despite a valiant effort for several years, it was again passed by a brand new competitor on the scene relegating Nintendo to 3rd place.

Nintendo isn't trying for things like the first person shooter market any longer. They're in business for their own niche in the console world and that's who they wisely target. The casuals, the kids, and the long time fans of classic Nintendo software which appeals to gamers of all ages and types. They're not trying for the core Sony/Microsoft demographic anymore which should be plainly obvious to anyone that has followed Nintendo's actions since the Wii initially was announced.

Things like Call of Duty are just icing on the cake on a modern Nintendo console when it happens on occasion. They're not what people are buying a Nintendo console for and the absence of many such titles that dominate on the competition aren't the reasons why the Wii U has struggled. Nintendo is failing because they're failing to cater to those categories I mentioned, not because they're not attracting Xbox and Playstation fanboys back to Nintendo.

They lost that war nearly a decade ago.
