Wii U with a projector issue

Hello,
First post, I searched but couldnt find exactly what I was looking for so I am sorry if this has been asked already.

I have a projector and just recently purchased the Wii. Since I have a projector my whole entertainment system is behind my couch projecting to the wall in front. I have one game that requires you to use the Wii remote to point at the screen but since the console is behind me I cannot get this to work. I went to best buy and purchased a wireless sensor but it ended up being "wireless" power, that still requires a short plug in to the back of the Wii which I do not understand.

Is there any option for those who need a true wireless sensor bar?

Not sure why a wireless bar would require you to plug anything in to the Wii. I purchased this one from Best Buy and there's no plug/cabling required:

While I don't quite understand what he's saying, an awful lot of people don't understand what the sensor bar is.

They think it communicates to the Wii and has to be plugged into it, when in actuality, the cable going into the Wii is only to power the LED's in the sensor bar. No communication happens between the sensor bar and the Wii.

If this sensor bar is battery powered, it does not need to be plugged into the Wii. If you see a cable there, it's only optional in case you decide to use it as a wired sensor bar in the future instead of messing with batteries.

Hmm, that is the sensor bar I have.

I read the instructions and it tells you to plug it in so I never tried to use it.

I will give it a shot today.
