The weekend deal is the entire FEAR series for $10. Totally worth it, as there is some very good gaming to be had there, and rather unique at that. The lighting in FEAR 1 still holds up great, and FEAR 2 was just an all around solid experience end to end. They aren't top-tier games, but I had a hell of a lot of fun playing all five titles.

The original F.E.A.R. was one of those rare games where everything seemed right. It was a technological showcase in both visuals and sound. Gameplay is fantastic as well.

I remember being very impressed with the sound of glass shattering, and the different sounds of bullet shells dropping on a variety of surfaces (wood, puddles, concrete, etc.). The EAX implementation was flawless.

Despite it initially appearing to be a non-Steam game, Alice: Madness Returns is also sold through Steam.

I've been wanting to play a decent new platformer.

I just hope EA's BF3 and ME3 are STEAM also and not only ORIGIN.

Anyone familiar with Post Apocalyptic Mayhem? It looks like quite the fun little racing game.

I was a bit surprised to see that the F.E.A.R. collection requires over 31GB of data to be downloaded.

Well it's 2 games, plus 3 extra downloadable content/expansions so it's not that surprising IMO. Figure the 3 extras take up about the same amount as each game.

Overlord is the deal today. Both games plus the DLC for the first for $5, or just $2.50 each (plus $1.25 for the DLC). I only ever played the demo of the first on the 360 and remember enjoying it, so I picked up the pack. Seems to have fairly good reviews for both of the games.

Its ok, but don't buy it thinking its Twisted Metal quality..its not lol But they did release some free DLC, which I have yet to try. I bought the game day one and put about 10+ hrs into it so far.

The summer sale has started. A ridiculous number of things are 25-33% off, and,of course, the daily deals are better.

*EDIT*
After looking around more, there are lots of things that appear to be even 50-75% off for the duration of the sale, especially indy games. So yay.

Wish I had held off on the Witcher 2 now. It's 33% off.

I'm also looking at picking up Borderlands for $7.50.

I will grab TDU2 at $10 I think, to play on my awesome monitors with my new wheel. I still love it on the 360.

The id Pack at $30 also looks appealing right now.

I have 2 basic Borderlands licenses from Steam. A friend and I have been playing co-op and just started playthrough 2. If I get 2 GOTY licenses will we be able to use our current game saves with GOTY and play the DLC?

Shouldn't be a problem, as the DLC are just addon packs. If the full game is in a different folder, you may have to manually move your save over.

The real questio. Is whether Steam will let you buy the GOTY if you already have the standard version. Are the standalone DLC packs also on sale, letting you just upgrade to the same content as GOTY?

Assuming your Borderlands is Steam, then there is the good solution. $7.50 for the DLC pack.

Thanks.

I have the impression that only 2 of them are worth playing but I guess it is worth $5 to give the others a try.

I'd get Borderlands if I hadn't beaten it on 360 like 4 times already (played the add-ons too).

I picked up the THQ collection for like $50 as I wanted Metro 2033 and Darksiders, plus the Warhammer games looked fun.

I ended up buying the square pack. I've been wanting to play Arkham Asylum and the hitman games again. I've also never played deus ex or the Kane and Lynch games. Lot of good stuff in that pack. Doubt I'll buy much more during the sale unless I just see an individual title real cheap that I've wanted to play.

The 2K pack isn't too shabby either. It gives many people an excuse to get Duke Nukem Forever.

Already have Just Cause 2 (and dlc), but I'm probably going to grab KOTOR (which I've never played), Battlefront II, and Heroes of Might and Magic V Heroes' Pack.

I want Devil May Cry 4, but given all the other games I'm getting in this sale, I can't pay more than $5-6 for a game that old.

KOTOR is an amazing game. I'm going to buy it on Steam since I want to play it again and somehow lost one of the CDs required for installation.

I've lost so many PC game CDs over the years and I often wonder where they went.
