I will probably pick up Total War : Shogun 2 pack if the price is right!

And maybe Civ V expansion (if there is a good deal).

And Bethesda Pack if I can get Fallout NV and Skyrim for cheap smile.gif

Thanks. I got it last night. My buddy who wanted it also forwarded the deal to me and we both bought it instantly. This game is awesome in coop...but still awesome, nonetheless.

I was starting to think they weren't doing one this summer.

Omg *buy buy buy*!

No, usually I am pretty reserved during Steam sales, but I am definitely looking forward to the one this year since I am between games and looking for some random mish-mash to fill the time before GW2 hits.

I wonder how cheap Skyrim will hit? It is one I've been wanting to play, but not wanting to pay a ton for.

Skyrim is $40 right now. Might be even cheaper on another day though.

Portal 2 and Terraria are the obvious "must buy if you don't have" picks today. I hear really good things about Grimrock, so that's my purchase of the day.

Yep, I did see this. Not the price I'm waiting for though... I realize I probably won't get my $20 price that I'm holding out for, but it's not a game i'm in a rush to play so I can wait till another time if needed.

Couple other games I'm watching for @ $5 like LFD1 & 2, maybe Duke Nukem Forever if it hits that low, and we'll see what else pops up.

The Sega pack is pretty tempting for me since I want to pick TW: Shogun 2 and also Empire : TW. I would also get Rome : TW (heard lots of good thing about it and with the annoucement of Rome : TW II...). All the other games are meh... Aliens VS Predators okay maybe but the rest I already own them from the Sega Mega Collection on PS3 rolleyes.gif

I,ll have to check if 49,99$ price tag is still under the cost price of buying all of Shogun + Empire (with DLCs included...). Probably since Shogun 2 is 7.49% today...

I'm holding out for 10 bucks. It's not high on my list and I hated Oblivion and Fallout. Why do I do this to myself?

Skyrim is more on the Morrowind end of the spectrum. It still has many of the same faults as most Bethesda RPGs, but it has a similar (though inferior) encouragement to explore to what Morrowind had.

Regardless, Skyrim is much, much better than either Fallout 3 or Oblivion.

I wouldn't expect to see Skyrim for much lower than 50% off. Not til it's an old GOTY or something. tongue.gif Good luck guys. wink.gif

Unless you're not into Fantasy role playing as much as apocalyptic wasteland role playing. For me, I like Fallout 3 more than Skyrim, but fully admit that Fallout 3 can't hold a candle to Skyrim in many ways. Still, the setting of a post nuclear war world, is just so tasty to me. I know there are tons of similar games that go with the apocalypse type theme, but Fallout 3 is special. Graphically, Skyrim kills it, no question. Also the limited number of voice actors in Fallout 3 really hurts it. They repeat way too much.

Yeah. That's what I have a problem with when playing games like Skyrim. I'm not into fantasy with swords, magic and dragons and crap. tongue.gif I'm a 100% guns and bullets kind of guy. cool.gif My friends and I hope that the next Fallout game will look on par (or better) than Skyrim and have better (and more) voice acting. And hopefully initial Steam Workshop support. Woot! I wish! biggrin.gif

Terraria would be garbage on a gamepad. Asking for it to run on a gamepad is like asking to run an RTS on a gamepad.

I also voted for Saints Row 3. I already have it and all of it's content, so I don't need it to be cheap. I need more people to buy it so THQ gets more money to make Saints Row 4. wink.gif At $12.50 it is a steal. Buy now!

If you HTPC game watch for these games which support local coop in the days ahead. They really round out an HTPC

75% off trine grab the franchise 1 and 2 if you have an HTPC it works 3 player with controllers and is a good game.

Watch for jamestown, also great with 4 controllers, supports mouse and keyboard in really easy setup, absolutely great game.

Raymon origins wait for 50% off if you missed it earlier. I just bought it so I dont have much to say yet but controllers 3 and 4 are not auto configured and the mouse does not work well for me yet.

Laura croft gardian of the light 2 player

Swarm Arena, great 1v1 game with any input.

Picked up the last two DLCs for Civ V that I was missing. Also snagged Legend of Grimrock, but nothing looks interesting to me in today's releases.

Interesting Steam publisher news.... Valve will stop reviewing patches and updates for approval, leaving it up to the game makers to get it right themselves:
Quote:
While Valve have always encouraged developers to update their games frequently, those updates would previously need to be approved before they went live. They’re now changing to a new system, where developers can make updates live themselves, with no oversight from Valve.

What if your update breaks the game? Customers will tell you, and if you don’t hear them, Valve will tell you what customers are telling them. But ultimately, it’s the developer’s responsibility to check this stuff, release good updates, and fix anything that breaks.

Anna says the most effective marketing tool Steam gives developers is the pop-up message that tells you when a friend plays a game. A game that releases regular updates brings its existing players back, and each time they play, everyone they know on Steam gets more and more curious about this game their friend seems to like so much.

In the sales graph of a regularly updated game, its launch is just one of many equally massive spikes.

Not much I really really want, (or don't already own) but I might snag a few games I already own (outside of Steam) just to have them on Steam for consolidation. As long as they're super cheap of course.

Tropico 4 looks very tempting, too, though. I already have it on xbox, but...
