I'm curious about Transistor, but the hurdle for this game is everything I've seen of it I think "I have no idea what's going on or what I'm looking at." I guess I need to try it at some point.

Anyone playing Wolfenstein on PC?

I honestly bought Transistor without knowing anything about it (as in, actively avoiding reading most things about it), just based on the quality of Bastion.

I haven't gotten a chance to play it yet, but looking at some of the review scores (admittedly not reading much text, if any) I doubt I'll be too disappointed.

Supergiant Games are on permanent media blackout from here on out like Bioware or until they get bought by EA. smile.gif

I didn't read a review of Transistor until after I picked it up. The reviewer was pretty spot on to what I had seen from what I have played at that point.

I live in Iowa, so one day it's like Florida, the next it's like Alaska.  Fickle weather.  confused.gif   Anyway, my 680 has performed without an issue thus far, but I don't have your dry heat, shedding dog, wandering dust storms or dual card thermal trap sandwich to deal with.  That said, I'll probably still upgrade to the 780 Ti when the 800's drop the prices.  I ran SLI / Crossfire when I was running 7680x1600, so I remember what it's like to try and pump the whole house's air conditioning into one room. biggrin.gif

Oops. I should have clarified; I only use one card at a time, and the replacement via RMA started running too hot-95c when I stopped using it-so I replaced it with the 780. I've also upgraded the monitor to a 1440p model, and while the 680 certainly pushed those pixels quite well, it's nice having so much "overhead" now. I am considering an SLI setup, but that will depend on how the single card handles The Witcher 3 or Fallout 4. hehehe

I only install open-world games like Skyrim to my SSD, especially after having to do deleting when the available space on the SSD was less than 10%.

As for the discussion above about migrating Steam game files, I am very fortunate to have a very fast internet speed, and living in the midst of fellow retirees means that there isn't a lot of bandwidth hogs, though as more of them learn how to stream movies, that will likely change. Anyway, none of the games I own take more than an hour to DL/install, so I only install the ones I am playing now, and let Steam hold the rest for me 'til later.

Witcher 3 is possibly my most anticipated game of 2015 (thus far).  I've forgotten how many runs I've done through W2, loved that game.

The Division & Far Cry 4 also look good.  For me, Fallout 4 will depend on if they've updated their graphics engine.  My eyes can only take so much. ;)

Yeah, I think I might be in for $20, as long has it has at least decent single-player playability.

I initially played the second one, tried the first and got frustrated by the controls and went back to the second. Eventually I went back and forced myself to get past the controls and found the original rather enjoyable. I had read a few of the books by then, so the additional story may have spurred me on. In any respect, I think you'll enjoy them.

I'm not sure how else to put this....but is it as aggressively Eastern European as the metro games? Games from that region have this certain vibe, like they're all super depressing and bleak.

No... well maybe to an extent. They can have their moments as they deal with death and loss, but there's also hilarious moments as they deal with stupid decisions while drunk or the consequence of flirting with 2 women at the same time. Besides well crafted rpg mechanics, #2 dealt deftly with politics (much of which is optional if you care to avoid it) and life as an outsider in most people's eyes. They are just good story telling in my opinion. And I love a good story driven game.

I just picked up Transistor sight unseen as well, but recommendations from darth and jhoff are hard to ignore. I did really enjoy Bastion as well. I'll get around to it once I finish the new Wolfenstein which uses Id tech, as it should.

Transistor is really falling flat for me compared to Bastion.

I expected nothing from Wolfenstein and it has blown me through the door, across the block, to the other side of town, and finally into the next county. A TERRIFIC game!

It is flatter than Bastion. It's one of those titles that pushes the narrative side of gaming like Brothers and TLOU.

I'll have to agree with you on Wolfenstein. I haven't finished it yet, but what a ride it is so far. After bumping my controller speeds to max, and planning my attacks a bit, it became much less frustrating. Wolfenstein delivers!

See now I took the stealth route (for the most part).  I am thoroughly enjoying sneaking up behind Commanders and quietly ending their reign.  Occasionally I still break out the dual-wield shotguns and mow down anything that crosses my path, but I get more satisfaction out of clearing an area without any alerts.

Agreed. I rented it for PS4 on a whim, but this is a much better game than I was expecting so I'm going to have to own it on PC.

Yeah, the sharing is quite easy. You log in to your account on the computer you want to share to. Go to the Family settings, and click Authorize this computer, and select the account. I've got a couple of the guys here on AVS authorized to use mine, we set it up using TeamViewer
