Thanks guys. Your input was very helpful. I actually expanded the list a bit. And will pull the trigger this evening. I added:
- The Bureau: XComm Declassified ($3.99)
- Bulletstorm ($4.99)
- The Last Remnant ($2.49)
That brings me in for a grand total of 9 games at $62.41. I figure that's less than the cost of 1 new game for a console. So I'm happy with it. Plus I'm really into the superior graphics of my PC right now. That may actually put Enslaved on a serious bubble before I pull the switch tonight. Since I already own it for the Xbox 360. But I saw a few others I may give a shot over it. That I don't have. If anyone has played these 2 and don't like them. Chime in. They are:
- Trine 2
- Halo Spartan Assault
To clarify, the Xcom games are high-quality, and they have a strong fan-base. I'm just not one for turn-based, at least not anymore. There's a good chance you might like them, many do.
Bulletstorm is a hoot!
You'll have to take the juvenile, over-the-top attempt at humor with a grain of salt, and it's about as vulgar as a frat boy on red bull. Something to keep in mind if there's kids or an easily offended SO nearby. But the fast action and fairly clever shooting mechanics are pretty awesome in my book. And plays great on PC with the Xbox controller.
I've only played a bit of Trine 2 - it's a beautiful character-based side-scrolling platform/puzzle game based on switching main characters with different abilities to solve the puzzles. If nothing else, you'll "ohhh" and "ahh" over the lighting effects.
Have fun with your new games barrelbelly!
