Skyrim will start to suck up your life...I'm not an RPG guy but I have watched it and finally played a bit, and once you start to find good stuff and level up, and re-trace a few steps, you'll start to get into it. However, I know the early grinding is probably going to suck, but with dual 670's I'm ready to try out some of the graphics mods and see how it looks.

I might toss 15 to the wind.....I also bought Hitman Absolution today off amazon for 7:50

OH, Apologies Dude...THANK YOU for the direct link...searching on the site turned up DLC and I think a digital gamers guide to buy :P

Yeah, I hope we won't have to wait too long for the keys to come back in stock. This is the first time I've ordered from them so not sure what to expect.

Anyway, I have plenty of games to keep my busy while I wait. Have to finish Metro 2033 for one thing before Last Light comes out next Tuesday!

I've decided against GamersGate......too new, too many super-duper sales. I almost got Borderlands 2 from em for $10, then decided to wait for Steam/Greenman/Amazon....if someone sells it for 10, others will as well shortly.

Did I quickly look and see if GamersGate takes Bitcoin!? biggrin.gif It takes something besides PayPal I think.....not sure if they are international/Canadian or Domestic and supporting another online pay service.

I can wait. Skyrim and its 900 hours of repetitive gameplay aren't going anywhere, but I'd have no interest in paying more for the DLC......I just want to try out some of those cool mods they put out that rework the textures and stuff...

I bought the tomb raider guardian of light package for cheap through gamers gate. It's a steam key.

It looks like when you buy stuff you get blue coins. You can then use those blue coins instead of currency. The cost was $6.37 for the game and dlc and I now have 337 coins.

Right now Dishonored is $15 there. Steam key. And looking at the blue coin cost, it's 14990 coins. So you'd need to buy a lot of games to get enough to get another game.

You can buy coins according to the FAQ.

Did you guys notice that when you checked out, they *charged* you for "Blue Coins"......at the bottom of my checkout screen (which I decided not to complete), I saw an additional 87 cents or something for "blue coins".

Wasn't sure what that was about....

No, I didn't see that. Sorry, probably should have mentioned that there was a coupon code that gives you 750 coins or $0.75 off the price. I found about it through Slickdeals.

Couldn't resist at that price! These PC game deals are just amazing! I'm kind of new to PC gaming, but is this the norm on price drops because if so, wow!

smile.gif A triple A title at $5 is not the norm, but not ultra-rare either. Many are often simply Steam codes that act exactly if you bought from Steam.

Watch Green Man Gaming for some great deals, and occasionally Amazon, Gamefly, GetGamesGo, and even Origin will have some great sales. And Steam often has a 75% off Daily Deal, and fairly often something pretty sweet.

And wait 'till you experience Steam's legendary end-of-year sale! biggrin.gif

Great, thanks! I decided to get it for the single-player and to check out the graphics for myself.

Looks like some good deals coming up this week at GamersGate:

Monday: Battlefield - Save up to 70%
Tuesday: Dragon Age - Save up to 75%
Wednesday: Mass Effect - Save up to 75%
Thursday: The Sims - Save up to 50%
Friday: Kingdoms of Amalur - Save up to 75%
Saturday: Dead Space - Save up to 75%
Sunday: Crysis - Save up to 75%

Hopefully Dead Space 3 will be cheap. Been waiting to pick that up too.

Cool, tempted to get BF3 at $10. Can visuals be maxed with dual-670s SLI and maintain 60fps at 1080P?

btw, Skyrim + high-rez texture mod on full ultra visuals, FXAA with maxed draw distance gets a super-smooth 60fps @ 1080p, and even seems like it has room to spare! eek.gif I know I'm way late to the game on this one, but even so, *very impressed*.

I hope so because I have the exact same setup! Nice to hear about Skyrim too. I want to pick that up soon. What mods are you running? I was worried about 2GB of VRAM being insufficient to run some of the nicer graphical mods.

Oh noes! BF3 single player is laughably terrible garbage. I'm sorry that you got bad advice that caused you to waste $10 on this. The multiplayer is fantastic, but that campaign is uninspired, set-piece driven, and takes every oppurtunity to take control away from the player. You gotta go through a door? Pff! Silly soldier, you don't know how to use doorknobs! Wait for your AI follower to open it for you.

It is a poor clone of the COD formula, which is already itself a poor way to spend five hours.

You'll easily get $10 bucks worth of fun out of the Single Player campaign, with probably best-in-class visuals along for the ride.

There are also some co-op campaigns, but I'm not sure if you can play them in SP mode......e.g. not sure if you need to have another person connected to your game to launch them.

A single 670 can max it at 60 fps. The SP looks good and plays well, but the story is hard to follow and boring.

..and if you are into the multiplayer on BF3, you can now also get all the expansion packs and Premium membership for an additional 10 bucks. I have BF3 standard but never finished playing it (fell out of interest in FPS's for awhile)...these multiplayer map packs are probably beautiful and full of lots of neet upgrades, but since I don't have the time or inclination to spend lots of hours consistently playing a game online that requires me to level-up (eg: stick with it), not sure its a smart move.

I never bought any of the expansion packs for BF2 and didn't miss anything....

Absolutely. The first game alone should get you your money's worth. It was groundbreaking in some ways when first released, and holds up very well today.
