The first one was one of the few games I just stopped playing because I hated it so badly....it was a terrible FPS and the whole 'darkness part' was like "oh great its like having a giant HUD on my screen that moves around"......this game would probably work a lot better as a 3rd person action shooter than a FPS....

The lack of FoV options in the pc version makes it the most nauseating game ever.

Try Rainbow Six 2.......that is nauseating to play on the PC. I just got through it because it was only $2.50. I hear Vegas pt 1 is not only the better game (it is), but it has adjustable FOV on the PC (awesome). And its only FIVE BUCKS on Amazon right now PLUS you get another game for free download. GO SHOP!

Yep, bought L.A. Noire just a few minutes ago. Will be buying some other stuff during the next few days (Warhammer: Space Marine perhaps?).

Every pc game I've bought this year has been from Amazon. If they ever go international with their deals, the smaller dd stores will be in a world of hurt. Hell, I bet Steam and Origin will suffer if Amazon get serious about this. Let's be honest, EA and Valve customer service is nowhere as good as Amazon's.

Space Marine is about a $5 dollar game, tops. The action gets very repetitive (empty clips into charging hoard until they overwhelm you, then switch to only-one-combo melee move)...they meant well but the execution just isn't there, with some sections of the game having you clear several checkpoints doing nothing but running....like..2 minutes running and you're going "Um, is the game broken? Did I miss a trigger point?". Eh, helps if you're into the boardgame/mythos thats for sure.

What I want to know is this: Is SHIFT 2 really that bad with a wheel? I have it for the 360 but the game is so 'busy' visually with flashing crap and track decorations that I need the extra resolution of the PC version to really see what the hell is coming up like, you know, turns :P But I heard the game just was no fun and the controls were impossible to dial in.....is that still the case? Is it a case of $4.99 worth of total frustration? Is the game best played with a joypad?

HeadRusch, thanks for the insight of Space Marine. Since there are plenty of other goodies available until the 15th, I'll wait for it to go down in price (probably for a Christmas sale ).

I think for me the thing that ruined it was that you fight....Orks. Now this makes sense because its a warhammer 40k game, but the Orks in game are cartoony, goofy brutes. You're supposed to be this meta-human in super armor and you're fighting pigs with rocketlaunchers on their backs. It just doesn't work for me. Really disliked HALO for the same reason, in fact the only parts of HALO I enjoyed were the parts that most folks hated, when the zombified FLOOD appears I actually got into the game, which most folks go "Ugh I hated those levels".

Fear 3 is totally awesome if you have someone to co-op it with. It's kind of crap as a single player game. Multiplayer is extremely interesting, but given that the 360 version's multi was dead as dead gets a month ago when I was playing this, I'd imagine that the PC's multi is in even worse condition. Too bad too, as F'ing Run is a great multiplay experience.

Was going to go Darkness 2 but not at 12 bucks...heard the SP is only 5 or 6 hours long if you take your time, so I'm calling bullsheet and not going higher than $5. I think SAINTS ROW 2 is a $4.99 bargain however.......and I can now say that NFS SHIFT 2 at $4.99 is a good fun buy, even with a joypad its still pretty playable, but hooking up the wheel is still your best bet.

Well, one thing to always remember, is that when you're buying digital download PC games, you're basically buying a long-term lease. You don't really own the game, so if you think of it like a really long rental, yeah, there might be some games that aren't worth 5 buckaroos.

In the case of Amazon, you get all the install files and the key to activate the game in a nice little folder which you can then archive and install whenever you want. Move it to another PC if you want. If there is a server validation required for a server that no longer exists...well.....we all know there are ways around that. With Steam, there are local install files but its a little different I do admit, but I don't think anyone would disagree that Steam isn't going anywhere so you can always re-install.

$5 bucks. That is an extra value meal at McDoogles, its not even a movie ticket. If you download a game and get 6 or 60 hours of enjoyment out of it, its a pretty good bargain.

If it is a big-budget game from a well known publisher, gametrailers reviews are just a click away.....and at $5 bucks nobody is going to bother with trying to find a pirated copy, and the developers wind up getting a few bucks out of the deal so technically its win-win.

Metro2033 is a must own.....Saboteur got several decent reviews, and I like the idea of running around an open world Paris jacking vintage cars and spraying nazi's with bullets. Besides, the opening cinematic is full of polygonal topless dancers. Any game that has a "Nudity ON/OFF" toggle gets my $5 bucks just on principle alone.
